Good team needs: Vrana - __________ - Raymond Bertuzzi - Larkin - __________ Zadina - Veleno - __________ Berggren - Rasmussen - Stephens Soderblom/Smith ________ - Seider Edvinsson - Hronek Sebrango - Lindstrom McIsaac Ned Cossa .500 to barely playoff team: Vrana - Larkin - Raymond Bertuzzi - Veleno - Zadina Berggren - Rasmussen - Soderblom Smith - Stephens - Kriscuolo Erne/Gagner Osterle - Seider Wallen - Hronek Edvinsson - Lindstrom McIsaac Ned Greiss Thats not THAT bad, now that I look at it. 4 holes to fill. Big ones in 1C / 1LHD. Would like to see us add Forsberg to knock out that Right Handed 2 RW need. That would be a quick easy fix to that.

Did Yzerman take the wrong goalie?
-
I think you are nailing this take. kid has wheels and mitts. Gaudreau type ceiling, old Larionov type floor.
-
And why is a 5'10, 180 lbs, 3 ACL tear, injury prone Fabbri so tradeable and such a good signing for Yzerman and 6'1", 205 lbs Forsberg who plays 85% of the time, and scores a point a game, such an untradeable, bad signing again? That Fabbri contract was stupid. We have Zadina, Berggren, and Soderblom to fill the 3rd line wing positions. We need a RIGHT HANDED 2 RW. Yzerman signed a piece of glass journeyman 3rd line center to 4 million per. And sure enough, injury. I called that injury 2 weeks before it happened. The odds are that Fabbri will be a shell of his former shell. That's not going to interest any teams in the future.

Adding Forsberg fills a big hole for us = Right Handed 2 RW. Why would you be against that? He's 27. I get not doing it if we are going to go full tank and have the no 1 overall next year. If not, we should try to get better in both UFA and the draft.
-
yup. "oh, but Berggren has had injuries and its delayed his development and ..." yup. being a soft injury prone Euro isnt a good thing. Doesn't do the Red Wings much good if you dont prepare your body for the rigors of the NHL and miss 3/4 of a season because another player shoulder checked you at half speed and separated your non developed shoulder. What you do in the off season and how you train is all part of being a pro. Im betting Berggren has a hard time making it thru next year as a Red Wing if he makes the team.
-
I forgot to mention Zadina is only 8 mos older than Berggren and has 160 games of NHL experience. Cant wait for Berggren to bring his AHL minus 22 up to the NHL so we can see him get manhandled. Lets see how his "playmaking abilities" check out on a 4th line with Erne and Stephens with 7 minutes of ice time. Im sure he'll tear it up.
-
Peeimeter player just like Zadina. No straight line hockey. No board batles won. No dirty goals. JUST LIKE ZADINA. You like whipping Zadina? Get ready to REALLY like whipping this Softy Swede. He's handsome, at least.
-
If you dont like Zadina, you are not going to like Berggren. Imagine the same exact player, but add lazy and sucks.

500 is 1/2 of 1000. Ovi is at 774 now.
-
Suter is trash. I have no idea why I am the only one seeing him get scored on almost every game. He's a weakling and doesnt take his man. I hope he's traded next year.

I like your analysis here. One thing I love about Ras is that he took on the task of learning bottom 6 duties when asked. That has made him a valueable piece now to the team. If you have a guy that CAN play anywhere but 1C in the lineup, but plays 4C and pk when all are healthy because he is reliable in the dot and defensively, thats an awesome guy to have. Like you said, he just needs to add that 15 lbs of muscle to his lower body to gain leverage on the league. 5 lbs a year for the next 3 years, and he could be the best 4C in the league hands down. Yup. Like Ras, Zadina is honing bottom 6 skills right now. He's been on every line this year tho, so that tells you he has skills. I feel like Zadina just needs some maturity and 10 lbs of upper body muscle. He's 22, so give him a few years to get there.Nyquist, Tatar, and Bertuzzi had not played a single NHL game at this point in their careers!

Vrana, Larkin, and Raymond are legit top 6 fws. Bertuzzi, Veleno, and Zadina (as much as you hate it/disagree) are legit top 9 fws. Ras, Sundqvist, and Berggren are legit top 12 fws. Suter is weak. Fabbri is weak. Gagner Erne, Stephens, and Smith are hanging by a thread.
-
exactly. Add Berggren, Soderblom, and Pick #8 and youre there. you can wait 10 more games, yah? Fabbri isnt as good as you think he is, either. just throwing that out there.
-
blueadams, Im going to say it again - do you really feel like Zadina is outside of our top 12 forwards right now? No you dont. Then just wait until the other guys push him out or he's traded. yah?
-
ahhhhhh. 10-4.
-
I was comparing Ras to Glendening.
-
We have 63 Swedish prospects
-
For sure. They are our guys.
-
12 G, 11 A, - 25 in 69 games vs 8G, 6A, -16 in 69 games Rasdog took over 4C line duties like a boss this year. He's better than what we had, and he's only going to get better. Versitile player with lots of upside if he works hard in the offseason, as you mentioned.
-
If Vancouver would retain 2.5 mil per year, why not.
-
I want Quenville.
-
What you do, basically!
-
touche. good point. i guess i just hate seeing our guys get ragdolled.
