Ha ha ha. If Chiarot plays over a healthy Edvinsson, Im not gonna watch. That's just assinine.

If the best player doesnt play, you set a bad culture for the organization. Edvinsson is CLEARLY in our top 3 defensemen and arguably only behind Seider. Making an argument that Chiarot, Holl, Ghost, Petry, and / or Maata are better is just stupid. Those players only have downside, as well. They are not as good as Edvinsson, and they arent going to get better with more NHL experience like Edvinsson will. I'm sick of fans thinking Yzerman is some genius. He isn't. He drafts for character and work rate, which is his best ability. His trades and UFA pick ups so far have been mediocre at best. The Chiarot signing is a huge stain on his CV, and he hasnt shown the ability to eat a sunk cost. Right now, the team cannot afford to have him in the lineup. Yet, he still is. That's not on Lalonde. That's on Yzerman. He needs to manage the 23 man roster appropriately. And playing Eddog is a big part of that.

No way Edvinsson is better than our top 7 of Lidstrom, Seider, Kelly, Konstantinov, Rafalski, M. Howe, and Fetisov. He needs more polishing. Oh wait, I forgot that we arent playing Sega Allstars. I honestly think Stafford is not a great qb. He's a gamer and he can spin it with the best of them, but his receivers' drops have a lot to do with his ball placement (accuracy) and lack of touch. One thing Brady was a master of is throwing catchable balls. The only guy who found Stafford's throws catchable was Megatron. He was 6'4", had a 7' wingspan, had a 40" vertical, and had 11.25" hands. Goff doesnt have the armstrength Stafford has, but he'll have a lot less drops due to the receivers getting to see the ball a split second longer and not have to reach for it as far. Goff is a good qb. And I bet he wont take the Lions to the cleaners with his next contract like Stafford always did.
