Zetterberg never played C. He was always a winger. We all know its impossible to play C if youre a winger from Kipwinger's teachings.
-
I accept. And we will make it Lafreniere to keep it simple. He will play center at the NHL level. Especially if he goes to a bad team (meaning one not on the rise like Phoenix or Anaheim).
-
I tend to agree with this. And we need superstars. #1 or #2 pick is a must for us the next 2 years. Going to be tough to win without a couple dominant players.
-
Exactly. I just dont even look at forwards by position anymore. They are just forwards.
-
He's lost this one miserably. I am just slightly amused still at the possibility of him pulling a giant troll job. But based on his original "oh no, you cant type down "Athanasiou-Lafreniere-Zadina" because Lafreniere isnt a natural center argument, I think he's really being serious. The Wayne Gretzky comment absolutely buried him, tho. That one hurt.
-
Yah, center playing wing, winger playing center. Inconceivable. Just admit that you were wrong. It's pretty easy to just say "you know what, I was wrong on that one."

AA scores 40 this year. Still thr whipping boy.
-
Wayne Gretzky knows more about hockey than you do. Deal with it.

STRAWMAN MACHINE!
-
Youre right. Hes the only player in sports history to have his number retired league wide for his performance, but what would he know about hockey positions?
-
What does Gretzky know about hockey, right?
-
"He reminds me of Gilbert Perreault," Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky told Sportsnet. "He can skate, handle the puck. He's just around the puck so much. When you have that much puck sense, that much speed, I can see him being a center at the next level." Impossible, Wayne. I know you think you know a lot about hockey, but Kipwinger has already informed the rest of us that wingers cant play center. Nice try, tho.

The guy is pretty cool -
Yah, i dont think we can give up AA.
-
Mantha is on the block.
-
More goals, more points, faster and stronger
-
Would you do Mantha, Berggren, and the pick? AA seems to be the better player.

FINALLY. Been saying for years that the Wings were way too soft. Nyquist completely 180d on his muscle development after 2016. -
Moving guys at the deadline is fine, but why do we always have to wait for the deadline. Move them as soon as possible. Proactively trade at all times. Not just on July 1 and Feb 22. Thats why Holland stunk in the salary cap era. He didnt create demand. He had to have it come to him.

Last fight was good. Still not better than florida iguana hunting, tho.

Does adding Lafreniere solve your guys' issues?

I would have picks 1 and 2 set automatically so each team would get one of each every 32 years with them separated 16 years. Then have the lottery system in place now for pick #3 on. The real stink of the draft is the Red Wings not having a legit shot at a number 1 overall since 1986. Edmonton gets 4 though. New Jersey gets 3. Why? They each won multiple Stanley Cups. The reality is Bettman is doing what the owners tell him to do. There is a reason the lotto balls are not drawn publicly.
