If a kid's mom is going to control their child's recruitment why don't you do this 3 months ago, or don't even let him commit to Michigan? What a joke! He was going to start taking classes at U-M in 2 weeks. We'll find someone else to fill his spot before Feb 6.

Anyone see that DL from Tampa change his name to Stylez White because of Teen Wolf? WTF?!

McGuffie has been released. I wish him luck, because it sounds like his family has some serious issues. Thank goodness the RB stable is still loaded...probably the position group on the team where you can say that.

Maybe it's my computer so maybe others can try this, but when I enter 0and16.com it sends me to the Lions site, and I'm not even joking around!!!!!!

I see your point. Absolutely losing the old english D would be awful, and I think teams like the Sabers change stuff for marketing purposes. The thing is with the Tigers they have won rings, they have been elite. They just had some rough decades, but they still had several great moments through out the century. Lions on the other hand can't say that. They obviously had some great players, but thats about it. If the Tigers, or Wings changed their jerseys big time I would be furious. I was pissed when the Pistons got those awful turquoise jerseys too, but thankfully the switched back. With the Lions though I feel different. What's the worst that can happen? The Bucs, Broncos, Chargers, and others have done it.

Tradition of what? Never winning a super bowl, and being the laughing stock of the NFL? Might as well start new tradition. The only real tradition the Lions have is Turkey Day, and that could be put in jeopardy in the future. The only reason I wouldn't like Black jerseys is because we would look just like Carolina.

I hate the Lions jerseys. The bigger Lion on the helmet, outlined in black was a nice addition, but the Honolulu blue is awful. I would make those jerseys primary black, like Baltimore's home jerseys. I love those.....

Were basically on the same page. I like that McDaniels call. I never thought of that. I would hire Floyd Resse as GM, but I guess Pioli wouldn't be bad either. I was also thinking about Cassel too. For the draft I agree on the dirty guys. Look at my Miami's turnaround this season. Parcell's wanted to fill that team up with dirty players, and happened to get a QB who isn't a stud, but he controls the game for the most part. I would draft a OL for sure with that first pick. I actually think Culpepper could be successful next year. He is showing improvement, and if he ever is close to what he was a few years back we will be better off then a lot of other teams. You have one MAJOR MAJOR flaw though...you didn't list Calvin Johnson on your players to keep. Shame on you!!! (-:

I don't like giving up arms either, but it looks like DD's new trend. He's willing to piss arms away, and replace them with the Garcia's and D-Train's of the world. Heck, Kerry Wood is on the market now too! Might as well get all the has been pitchers on one roster.

I can see OSU winning at that game. On the other hand I can see them getting destroyed like their last 2 bowl games. Utah vs Alabama is just a joke.

I said before the season started that we would lose to Oakland. Just my feeling. It will be Lucas Perry's first game so maybe that will take adjusting. Plus Oakland is hosting this at Ford Field, and has already beat Oregon this season.

Thats apart of rebuilding I guess. Like I said above I still don't know if they can make the tourney. Some pieces just are not there, and they lack experience. I guess it's kind of like last year when MSU football allowed 40+ points in a lose against NW, but at the same time made a lot of improvements at other places, and ultimately went bowling. Oh, and please tell me this link is just a bunch of blogging BS... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/89416-b...for-arizona-job

Absolutely, they should be ranked. Wow, just think if they would have hung on against Maryland. I thought they blew the Maryland game. The thing I can't get over about this team is the chemistry. Seriously look down the roster, besides Sims/Harris what is there? Wright, Lee, Merrit, and Gibson would hardly get no playing time at most of the other Big Ten teams....maybe no playing at at all! Then you got Novak, who had 2 scholarship offers to D1 schools (Valporaiso, and Michigan.). Same for Douglass (Western Michigan, and Michigan). I expected both Douglass/Novak to be contributers down the road hopefully based on their offers, and all their "flaws". How the heck does Beilein find these 2 kids? They are a bunch of outcasts that gel great together.

What a game, what game! The old U-M basketball would have thrown in the towel by being down 20 to Savanah State, never get a sniff of UCLA at the Garden, and probably would have folded under pressure against Duke. Duke has only lost TWO non conference games in December this decade. Still don't know about dancing this year, but the improvement made from year 1 to 2 has been incredible. Plus Lavel Lucas Perry arrives in a couple weeks. Again, what a game!!!

Is Sutton actually missed that much? I hear this a lot, and really didn't know what to think of that. I would think MSU would be fine with former HS studs in Herzog, Roe, Green, and I guess it's also possible Gray could move there too like U-M does with Simms sometimes. Not saying this was an excuse why they lost to UNC, because well UNC is just the truth...period.

I agree with all this. From what I understand most MSU people who actually knew JLS really liked him, but his problem was he didn't reach out to hardly any former players/alums which is a big mistake. Dantonio on the other hand is huge on this. I guess I could understand not reaching out because first of all you have a million things to do as a head football coach at a big school, and you also get a bunch of opinions on how to do things when you have your own agenda. At the same time though you need those people for support, and the big donations. As for Beilein...I read an article about him last year going to Michigan just because of the name. He had no idea the program was a mess, and the facilities were a joke. He came here because he thought the name, along with is coaching could get a higher level of player. I think he is here for good, and will not use it as a stepping stone. One interesting rumor I've heard though is his dream job since the first day he started coaching was Syracuse. That could be interesting because I could see that job opening down the road. I love Leach too. The guy doesn't give a s*** about anything!! The McGuffie thing is too bad, but he has always been kind of a question mark from the start. He wavered his commitment a million times in high school because he liked that Texas A/M was so close, and his mom was an alum, but his Dad is from Michigan, and wanted him to go there. On signing day he didn't send in his letter in because all of a sudden he loved Cal. Then he got here in the summer and already said publicly he missed the heck out of Texas, and football was the only thing he liked about Michigan. Now recently someone very close in his family passed away, and there is something going on with his 16 year old brother so I guess those 2 elements sealed the deal. I wish him well. It will be interesting to see what he does, because he got 3 concussions this season. He could become a Eric Lindros of football.

Michigan State was a program on the rise in 2003. They were a program on the rise in 2000. They were a program on the rise in 1997. A program on the rise in 1993. And a program on the rise in 1988. Oh yeah, and a program on the rise in 1985. There's always some recruit, or a win over Michigan, or new coach, or lucky new helmet design that is going to turn the corner. Look I'm not ripping your view on Dantonio. He has done a great job, but I've seen this story unfold before. Before I get ripped for saying all this I just want to make one thing clear: I said 2 years ago my gut feeling was Dantonio was going to bring MSU to a higher level, and John Beilein would bring U-M basketball to a higher level. It's been my feeling from day 1 for both hires.

Maryland is a good team, but I thought U-M really blew it. I really can't believe U-M has made so much progress though. I said from the start we got a really good coach, and it is already showing even though he's using a bunch of Turtleneck players.....

I agree on the QB thing. That's the problem. If it was a JUCO I would feel better, but still have questions. I was actually just trying to find true freshmen QB stats over the last decade, and could hardly find any. Without question Chad Henne was the best true freshmen QB ever, and when I saw his stats it was incredible compared to the others. Pryor was 2nd on the list of true freshmen QB's I could find, but I think he can thank his legs for a much better season. Guys like Stafford had 7 TD's, and 13 INT's his first year, and Tebow was a in a package.

Has anyone watched IU play this season? I feel horrible for them because the basketball is so bad. It's nothing against Crean, because I think he is going to be a success there, but he is just in a horrible situation because of Sampson cheating.
