    2007 College Football Season Talk

I would enjoy it, but at the same time I don't think they fit the Lion's style of play, and they are still the Lions I noticed Manningham, and Devin Thomas are on there. Wonder if they will jump?

Nick Saban compares Bama loss to 9/11, Pearl Harbor

I agree. Saban didn't mean it literally, but it was a horrible example. After he said that he flipped out on a reporter for "winning the right way". Saban has no right to talk about winning the right way because he ditched MSU, LSU, and Miami..not to mention he is known as a dirty recruiter.

Arrington didn't drop 5 balls. He dropped 2 at most.

If U-M hired within I would want English, but U-M can do much better then English. The good things about English is the players love him to death, and he is a great recruiter. The bad things: He has never been a head coach, and his defense is very inconsistent.

I think Brian Kelly is No. 2 on the list. I can't see him leaving Cincinnati so quick, but at the same time how could you turn down the Michigan job when you compare it to all his previous jobs? If Kelly left I think he would quickly get a Nick Saban reputation. Can't really name any other serious candidates...many have said Ferentz, Shifano, English, or Tedford, but I don't think anyone really knows.

This Les Miles stuff is going to get intense. People will be annoying him non stop from now on (not that they already weren't). I also got the sense Carr does not want him here while watching his press conference today. He brushed the question off, and talked about the 'heated recruiting trail'. He must have been referring to Jai Eugene, a CB who committed to Michigan 2 years ago, and then left for LSU. I think Carr should have a fair say in the next hire, but I don't think you can say no to what Miles has done during his career.

    Offical Lloyd Carr retirement thread

Wow after reading that list I can't believe I forgot about all those great OL's. They have really done a great job with them.

I had 2 A-Hole OSU students behind me. The girl was tapped me on the shoulder when the Victors started, and flicked me off. I said "Thats classy", and she told me to F off. Later on they were doing that Ohio chant with the hand motions, and she told me to join. I said "I gotta 4 letter word to spell for you, and it's not Ohio". That finally shut her up, and she continued drinking her pint of Jack Daniels...

    Offical Lloyd Carr retirement thread

Lloyd Carr is a class act, and although his teams were very frustrating at times to watch I still love the guy to death. I have never met him, but a few in my family have, and they all say once you meet him you are wowed by him. I wish the media knew this Lloyd Carr, but only his players, and people of Michigan get to see that. The relationships he made with players off the field was the most impressive. This is quickly vanishing in college football today because coaches come in, and treat it like the NFL. Schools need more coaches like Carr, who treat their players like they are his kids, or someone who will always be there for them.

Wow the 2 U-M games I go this year (App State/OSU) both sucked! That game was so hard to watch, and it didn't help that Ohio State's two dumbest students sat next to me, and let me know that they could actually spell O-H-I-O all game long. I feel horrible the way Carr, Henne, Hart, and Long had to go out, but it happens to the best of them. Big thanks to Lloyd Carr for everything he has done.

After watching that game I wish Michigan could have played Oregon without Dixon. Leaf played horrible! Must run in the family (:

What side does Gholstan play on? Will he be on Long, or Schilling? If it's on Schilling Henne will get hurt again ):
  14. I heard that too. Doesn't Kobe notice that wherever he's traded he's going to be put in the same spot? The team will have no talent around him because they will trade it all to LA for him. He might as well stay in LA, and hope in several years they can get lucky with the right players around him.

I sat around that corner seat during the App State game. I'll be seating in my family's seats this Saturday. There are in section 44 (between 30-40 yard line) about 60 rows up on the OSU side.

Your right Red they need to have Lloyd go out on top! All these rumors though are very exciting, yet very scary as you mentioned FSU, Bama, ect. This is will be the biggest decision U-M has had to make in decades... Anyone?

According to many sources Lloyd Carr is retiring next week after the OSU game. This is going to get very interesting. I love Carr to death, and thank him for everything he has done, and represents.

BetterRed or Packer.. What are you thoughts on Carr's future? Think this is his last game at the Big House, or he will stick around one or two more years? If you think he's gone who do you want? Miles, Tedford, Kelly, English, other?

    College basketball '07-'08

Michigan is 2-0. Looks like freshmen Manny Harris is really grasping the new offense along with DeShawn Sims. We will see how far they got to go learning wise after they play Georgetown on Thursday though. Hope they keep it close!!!

The defense should be very solid. They return everyone except Crable, and Adams. The offense has very talented players, but all will be very young such as Mallett, Hemmingway, Clemons, freshmen Sam McGuffie, and 1 or 2 OL. I always thought this year was Manningham's last year, but now I pretty much guarantee it after watching him rip Mallett a new one on Saturday for his play. I also think there is a chance Arrington will go pro along with Mannigham. I think the bigger question is are we losing Carr? I wonder if he will say something tomorrow, or next week after OSU regarding his future.....
