    2007 College Football Season Talk

I pulled out my OSU-UM tickets after the lose today to make me feel better. Wish we would have had Henne, but what can you do? I would rather have him and Hart 100% for OSU. Looks like another OSU-UM classic in the near future.
  2. I don't understand the Prince hype either. The guy gets hot and then extremely cold

    2007 Heisman Trophy Thread

Bennie is a BA. I think next year he will be the best RB in the nation without question. Some of the things he does is absolutely sick! I just hope we can contain him somewhat in 2 weeks. HTRW: Have you heard any news on Terel Pryor? Heard he was going to go to tOSU.

    2007 Heisman Trophy Thread

No it's not. He's not going to win anway, but if he was healthy he would be right there. He is the most important player to any team in the nation. He did his job against App State by having over 150 yards. He was leading the nation in rushing until he got hurt. If you are a Heisman contender, and have a fluke early in the year it is forgotten. If App State happened last week he would be done, but he had over 8 weeks to erase that, and he would have if not for injury.

If Hart would have been healthy all year I would vote Hart, but Denis Dixon is a stud. So I vote for Dixon.

    Gardener-Webb upsets ranked Kentucky

This is bigger then App State. App State was defending Nati Champs, and G-Webb was pixed 9th (ninth!!) in their conference. Plus they kicked UK's butt. What a shocker! This basketball season could get crazier then this years college football season.

About time this thread is out! Michigan is going to go through hell this year, but I'm really excited to watch John Beilein basketball. His offense and defense will be something the Big 10 has never seen yet. Some of his workouts that were reported were insane. K'Len Morris said every 2-3 Amaker practices equals a Beilein practice. Although you probably won't see much success until the current players learn his system, and a number of his recruits who fit the system come I am still pumped!

Exactly, and if you look at all of GVSU's rosters now they are stealing a number prospects from CMU, WMU, EMU, and some MAC schools because the player wants to win it all rather then getting whopped, or being average.

GV should not go to D1, or 1AA. Why go to the penthouse to the dog house at every sport? While I was doing my CCHA job I talked to the Ferris AD (the night GVSU spanked Ferris), and he said GVSU has created a monster no school in the country at that level can create, or compete with. He said for that reason they would be dumb to move up, and from people he talked to it sounds like they don't plan on it.

Don't worry I'm not denying that. GVSU is a not only a great school for athletics, but also academics. The campus is also beautiful. You also forgot about the National Championship in Women's basketball.....

Yeah GVSU beat U-M in CLUB hockey, not the D1 hockey team. I played ACHA (club) hockey for 2 years, and the gap between ACHA, and CCHA is MILES.

I think it does. Not as bad as Michigan, but it is still without question embarrassing. Michigan State, and Ohio State will both learn tons from the lose just like Michigan did in football, and rebound strong. I'm pretty sure MSU will win the Big 10. I see no real strong threat, not even Indiana.

I put a smiley face at the end to emphasize out sarcasm. Say what you want, but Beilein is going to turn that program around once he gets his players in.

    2007 College Football Season Talk

LIke BetterRed said it still happend. I wasn't trying to bring basketball into this thread. All I'm saying is if you don't like people saying MSU lost to a team that lost to App State, then don't be saying it about Grand Valley in a month or so. If you did you would acting just like Culcrick.....

Pick your words carefully because we all know in a few months you will say Michigan lost to a team in basketball that lost to Grand Valley State.

Pretty much like Drew "0-4" Stanton. That guy said way more stupid things then Mike Hart, and couldn't back it up. At least Hart can back his words up, and he does his talking after the game.

    2007 College Football Season Talk

Jehue isn't walking the talk because he complains how Michigan acted after the game, yet it is okay for him to go flag planting at ND. I wasn't talking about him statistically wise, because he is a great in his role along side Ringer. Although Hart has watched a lot of football as of late the guy was a top 5 Heisman guy, and still would be if not for the injury. No if you read my post to SkingPuck I said I just added the Dantonio quotes to add more fuel to the fire. I don't think they are wrong either, but I do think it is kind of stupid to keep talking about this when you team is in dire straits for a win to make it to a bowl game. Forget it and try to win this weekend. You can't call him a good coach yet. Like a said a few weeks ago he seems like the right guy, but the jury is still out. I'm not saying he is bad, but not good either. You can't judge him on one year. As of now though he went 18-17 at Cincy, and is caught in a bad spot at MSU right now. MSU doesn't really have bulletin board material next year. Hart isn't on the team. If a junior or underclassmen said it then yeah...... You asked for the quotes, and I gave them to you. I didn't take anything out of context. There are more quotes that were not in that presser. Look at the Detroit Free Press, and Rivals.com. That is true. During the Iowa, Wisconsin, and NW games I waited for them to crumble. Although they crumbled they didn't throw the white flag, and accept a butt whopping like John L liked. They lost due to inexperience.

No that is fine. Actually I only have a problem with Jehues comments, because he isn't walking the talk. I posted the other ones just to start drama I wasn't fond of Hart's comments. Of course I'm going to say they were funny, and Spartys would say the same if their own player said it, but it isn't necessary. I love Hart to death, but he doesn't shut his mouth. Even Lloyd Carr said "Mike says a lot of things, and I don't listen to word of them" You got to take all of his jawing with a grain of salt.

    2007 College Football Season Talk

I don't have the quotes because I watched their pressers on Rivals.com, but heres a summary or direct quote of each guy. Dantonio: "Does Hart have a little brother? He's only that tall," "It's not over. I will be the coach here for a long time. It is just starting." "Pride comes before the fall" "They can print all that crap they want all over their locker room. It's not over. It'll never be over here. It's just starting." Hoyer: Let's put it this way, if anybody hadn't taken this personal up until this point, it's personal now. It just shows what kind of class he has. "Sooner or later, the little brother, you want to put us that way, you get pushed around enough, the little brother fights back and kicks the other brother's (butt). Jehue: Complained about the moment of silence on the field, and a player (who he couldn't remember) said something mean to him. My problems: 1) Dantonio: Don't you have a big game this week? The game is over. Move on, and worry about making a bowl game. You also started it by installing a countdown clock, talking at the MSU basketball game, and said "lets take a moment of silence" after U-M lost to App State. 2) Hoyer: Walk the talk. You knew what the game was about. You watched Stanton go through it. Don't talk after you play like crap 3)Culcrick: You are angry because someone said something mean to you? Be a man! It happens all the time during the game. Also weren't you one of the main guys planting a flag on ND's field? Don't talk if you're going to be a hypocrite

Dantonio has to get off his high horse, and stop talking about after the game. His remarks were a joke along with Jehue's, and Hoyers.

Typical response. Lets talk about basketball when there is still plenty of football to be played
