No they're not. Is Detroit, Saginaw, or Flint located in Minnesota? Those 3 cities are hot beds for basketball talent. There is enough talent for U-M and MSU to both be top 15 teams every season.

Better question...Why would Tubby want to go to Minnesota? At least at U-M you can say the program has some big upside, but I don't think you can say that about Minnesota.

Thats understandable. If you are still coaching in the tourny you should show no intrest anyway, but you never know maybe he was serious even though U-M could pay him 3X more then what he's making now. Just remember Saban's quote earlier this year about Bama "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach. ... I don't control what people say. I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

Word on the street is Sean Miller (Xavier), Chris Lowery (Sout. Ill.), and John Beilien (West VA) are the 3 leaders for the U-M job. Would love Lowery even though he has only been coaching 3 years.

No arguments there, but the tide always turns around between OSU/UM. After next season we may have a new coach like Les Miles, or Ron English and things will flip flop.....hopefully

2003 with John Navvarre. Lloyd is 6-6 against OSU. Add that with 5 Big Ten titles, and a NC in 12 years isn't to shaby.

I was thinking that as well, but I think after he blew the game against OSU I think that automatically removes him from the list.

I agree on the young coach. Chris Lowery from Southern Illinois is my top choice, along with Bennett from WSU. If they go for a older coach I want Rudy T, or West Virginia's coach. If U-M opens their check book I actually think Calapari isnt that far out of the question, but I agree probably won't happen.

If they promise to build some facilites within a certain amount time, and give them some extra money a coach will come. I agree with Dicky V... "Trust me, there will be a number of big names interested in this position. You can win at Michigan, and with improved facilities you can attract big-time athletes to help compete" Big names? Maybe John Calipari or Mark Few??

I agree...Amaker is a class act. Martin said it was the hardest choice he has ever made while being at U-M. The move had to be done though. It will be interesting to see who they go after. Will they go after the big name or the upcoming? My short list is Chris Lowery from Southern Illinois, and Rudy T.

I missed the U-M game, because I was at a sports bar watching hoops, but it sounds like it was a good game.
