I see three potential problems for State.1: The 1-3-1 zone. It's given State trouble all year.
2: No Raymar Morgan. It's not as bad as missing Suton earlier in the year, but he will be missed.
3: If Ed Hightower refs the game. Then we can look for another game where MSU shoots 4 free throws and UM shoots 25.
Funny you say No. 3, because I was going to say the same thing. I think it will be an interesting game, and I hope it's a good one. Michigan needs some people to step up. Lavel Lucas Perry has fallen off the map, along with Novak/Grady. I've really enjoyed watching U-M basketball this year. It can be the most frustrating thing ever at times, but I love watching that style of offense/defense when it works.

It will be interesting to see what Stewart and Newman does with their new teams this year. I never think it's a good idea to own a team for a driver, but on the other hand Stewart is now the highest paid driver so I can't blame him. I'm somewhat pissed, because my best friend bought me a Bristol ticket, but I have to go to Detroit to work at the CCHA championship but I guess neither is a bad option.

I think it's a joke he can't go to Yost to watch his son play hockey. I'm not saying what he did was right, because it wasn't but I think most people if they were put into that situation would have done the same thing. It was a heat of the moment incident. I'm glad Conboy is gone for good. He's becoming a clone of his older brother. I would expect Tropp will be back next season because he had a clean slate before his slash.Also Kudos to Comley for handling things right. People who say Comley sent his players out for blood need to get their head of their ass. Comley is a stand up guy.

MGoBlog is reporting that Kampfer is out of the hospital.I hope that doesn't change the way the CCHA/NCAA/Comley approach the disciplinary action

There is suppose to be news after Monday's practice. What has happened to MSU? I know they pretty much everything from last year except Lerg, but I still thought Lerg could make them look better then the talent they had. I feel for Lerg...when I was at the GLI finals this year the goals U-M was scoring were ridiculous.

I would expect both of them to get multiple game suspensions. Someone on the USCHO boards said Tropp got two game misconducts. Comley better take action, there's no place for that kind of behavior. Multiple games? I would tell Conboy to pack his bags, and get lost. It's not the first time he's been a moron on the ice, and if he sticks around there will be more of idiotic stuff from him. I know the game of hockey can get real intense, especially in a game with rivals playing each other, but I don't know how someone can slash a guy who looks like he's dead.

Buckeyes unbeaten in their last 13....I for one am shocked.Carlson was playing his ass off last weekend. 49 saves plus stopping all the shootout attempts, along with a penalty shot save. I understand why Palmer doesn't play now.

I recall under Carr that Michigan always had a strong defense under Hermann or English. Wonder if Michigan will have a consistance strong defense again under Robinson. I personally don't think he is that great of a coach. Didn't do much in Syracuse.
Well great coordinators don't always equal great or even good head coaches, and Robinson could very well fit that mold. With that said I guess I'll have to see the results. His defense was outstanding when Denver won Superbowls, but that was in the NFL, and almost a decade ago. His defense was also pretty strong at Texas a few years ago, but thats Texas, and I would guess you would have to be an idiot to run that in the ground.
I guess I'll just have to trust RR on this one. He can't screw this up twice. He obviously saw something when he coached against Robinson in the Big East.

the NCAA has nothing to do with the college bowl set up. If they did, we would have a playoff.Instead the BCS and the bowls are completely outside of the NCAA's purview.

My fellow Wings fans, I reached out to the Red Wings nation back in October for support for the Phllies. Ultimately that worked and the Phillies won the World Series. Once again I reach out for support for the Eagles. I hope that more of that championship caliber support of Red Wings fans can help propel another one of my teams to a Super Bowl victory. Thank you.I remember that, and said I would not root for the Phillies, but if the Eagles do go to the SB I will be rooting for them for sure.

Isn't it FOX that has the announcer that screams BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY at the beginning of each race? That annoys the piss outta me, and I'm probably unknowingly rapping on some famous NASCAR tradition or something and I don't care.....it sounds retarded when they'll be calmly talking about how Jimmie Johnson's car looked pretty good in practice but Carl Edwards HOLY s*** GREEN FLAG BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY!!! has the pole etc. etc. etc.I HATE DW's bull crap before the races. And I HATE Fox's whole coverage of sports. Jimmy Johnson, Chris Rose, Eddie George, etc all suck at their jobs! It drives me crazy. I hate Brent Mushberger, but I would kill for him tonight. Wow, while were on topic I can't hate Tim Tebow, but his coach on the other hand I cannot stand! That NC game did nothing for me as a fan of college football.

I really can't get fired up for the championship game tomorrow. Football should end on new years day. By now, the holidays are over, I've gone back to work, its a new year and I'm back to the grind already. It's an after though.I'm with you. It's just the NCAA trying to get more money out of it. At least Fox isn't doing the game. They have the worst coverage/cast on earth.

I enjoyed the article, I guess every so often he still churns out a decent article. But, it was the typical Albom schamaltz that hasn't been said a million times before.The only thing that surprised me about the article is he didn't do his usual one line style of writing. We've all seen it.

I really have never had a problem with his writing, but to be honest I haven't read much of it either. I emailed the article to my Dad, and he replied back telling me he doesn't waste his time reading his work, and hasn't for years. I did the same to my mom, and she loved it, but her favorite book is Albom's "5 people you meet in Heaven" or whatever it's called.

Gibson went to DL sometime in the middle of last season. I think he's a pretty solid player, good speed from the outside. He took two dumb penalties last night, though it could be argued the one wasnt a penalty at all.He actually got 3 (neutral zone infraction). But yeah I don't think his second one was bad. You could read Beanie's lips after the 2nd one. He was saying 'just keep your hands down'. He must have not of been able to keep his weight down, because I thought he was a stud LB in high school.
So who's winning the Nati?! USC?

When did Thad Gibson become a DL? I remember Michigan recruited him as a LB from Ginn Sr's team. He didn't look like he deserved a scholly either!

What did I do to deserve this?That was a hell of a game, but I understand your pain right now. Vince Young did the same thing to us 3 years ago. I really see the DC problems you have been complaining about all year. When Texas was driving the field on that last drive I said to my buddy "This is this season's Michigan's D". They were giving them everything under, and it was only a matter of time before it bit them hard. I think they are lucky the flood gates didn't open in the 2nd or 3rd quarter when Texas couldn't click.
And don't want to really piss you off here, but I said it earlier this year, and I'll say it again. Todd Beckman should be the starter. I understand he can't escape like Pryor, and I can't argue Pryor may have more potenital then Vince Young, BUT the team believes in Beckman. He can control games, and has the senior leadership. When they kept telling stories about his senior year I really, really felt horrible for him. I really think if you start Beckman, and have a TP package on the side (like Leak/Tebow) you beat PSU, and who knows about the Texas game.

I don't know about that. I could see MSU wasting U-M, and I can see U-M winning. It just depends what U-M team shows up. If both teams play good MSU will win. I was scared to death of Suton because U-M lacks height, but Thabett didn't do near as much damage as I thought he would. I really just don't know, and keep going back and forth. I guess I'll say I'm cautiously optimistic.
