Not necessarily. There are a lot of guys who are really good at the AHL level and fail at the NHL level because there talent literally stops at the border.. Also, there are guys who don't look great in the AHL, but who succeed in the NHL because they are "bored" with the lesser talent in the AHL and playing at the NHL level actually pushes them and brings their game up. -
