So I watched the QMJHL (is the MJ really necessary?) vs. Russian Juniors game the other night. Both Veleno and McIsaac played. Veleno was 2C and 1st PK unit. McIsaac was 2nd pair and 1st PK unit. Synopsis: McIsaac looked good. Very solid and sound. I think there is top pair potential there. Veleno I was less impressed with. Didn't really stand out to me. Seems like more of a Nielsen type to me. Granted it was only one game, but I just didn't see anything to hype about.

Historically, I think that the reverse is more likely, especially right now. On a side note, did someone change the title of the thread? I thought we already had a 2019 offseason thread. Is this a Junior Mod power move? Also, Amy is the wrong Schumer on your list.

Agreed. Nielsen's on pace for a 54 point season. That's 2nd line C numbers offensively. He's also very solid defensively and deadly in the shootout, which has been commonplace this season. So yeah, he's definitely worthless. -

OK. But what if Karlsson or Yzerman means no 1st round stud? That's the point of this. Choose one. No way I choose a UFA or Y over a franchise player.

I picked Hughes. Signing a big name UFA is too expensive and not the right time because of the rebuild. Also, I don't think this team would really be any better off with Yzerman as GM.
