They were freaking limping and could barely skate. One of them had a broken stick. What do you expect? -

I think you're watching a Rangers/Oilers game from 2010. -

They were aware that something happened. How much? IDK. In the end, they decided to rid themselves of Aldrich by making him someone else's problem. I am willing to bet they talked to him, realized it was a "he said, he said" and just wanted him to go away. Was anything actionable on the team's part? Again, IDK.He probably agreed to resign if they agreed to give a letter of recommendation. The team was probably so glad to get rid of the problem, they agreed to it hoping the problem would go away on its own or blow up years down the road. Not defending their actions. Just explaining what I think happened. -

I am not defending anyone. I said that the team could not prove Aldrich did anything wrong other than engage in acts with a subordinate. I am not defending the Blackhawks organization either. I have already said that Aldrich did something wrong and the team should have handled things differently. I have also said that the team was put in a tough spot. I dont have all the facts. But I do think that some of the teams hesitation was based on potential liability and not because they were trying to protect a predator. -

They could not prove anything. It's not defending bad behavior to say that. -

It was Beach's place to call the Police. He is the only one who can press charges. The cops wont investigate if Beach doesnt want to go thru the criminal justice system. Reporting Aldrich to the league and/or police could open the team up to lawsuits from Aldrich. It was Aldrich's word against Beach's. Taking the accusations outside of the team, and going to the league about it, could give Aldrich reason to sue the BlackHawks as he could argue that his career was damaged by reporting unproven accusations that should have been kept in house. It's not fair, but labor laws favor the worker in these situations. The same thing has happened with teachers and doctors who have been accused of serious wrongdoing. It's just easier to pass the buck if you cant prove they did anything wrong. -

Of course not. Although that may have been part of the agreement with Aldrich to get him to resign. -

Size has nothing to do with threatening or intimidating someone. Aldrich was part of the coaching staff and therefore had power over Beach. If he used that power to intimidate Beach into committing sexual acts that he otherwise would not commit, that would at least be sexual harassment. Whether or not that meets the legal requirement of "rape", or whether or not its considered "consensual" is a question for a lawyer. Which I definitely am not. Regardless, what Aldrich did was wrong. And Beach could rightly be labeled a 'victim' IMO. There were things the Hawks should have done differently, but they also had their hands tied to some extent too. -

Some of you Non-Americans may not be aware of labor laws in the US. For example, if you terminate an employee, even for a serious offense, you cannot report it to the next potential employer. Doing so is illegal, and opens you up to lawsuits by the former employee. -
You just take the first few letters and add "dog" to the end of it.

Agreed. He was the low man on the totem pole. He didn't want to ruffle any feathers. Wouldn't be the first time some one kept their mouth shut and sat in the corner because they feared the repercussions of speaking up. -

Not necessarily. The team has executives for a reason. They're supposed to handle this kind of stuff. If any of it was passed on, it was probably watered down. Maybe they said it was consensual or something. Consider that executives get fired for stuff like that happening under their tenure. It is entirely possible they kept it from going too far up hoping it would just fizzle out. It's also possible the Wirtz's don't want to know about stuff like that for the purpose of plausible deniability. "You handle it. I don't wanna know about it." -
Edvinsson and some of the other D prospects makes keeping Leddy unnecessary, IMO. I'm not against it, but if he can get us a 1st or 2nd at the TDL, you have to take it. SY can always acquire another veteran D via trade. He's done it the last 2 years. Fabbri is a fine middle 6 forward. Would not mind keeping him going forward. But if Berggren and Tyutyayev are part of the future, then Fabbri is also expendable. Like Leddy, if he can get you a good pick at the TDL, its Bye Bye for me.

I would focus more on finishing the rebuild then sneaking into the playoffs.

I don't think the Wirtz's knew about it. -
I think you trade all of the pending UFAs at the TDL and get what you can.

Florida could lose their HC. That could negatively affect their performance this year. I really dont see Boston as a lock either. The only "lock" in the Atlantic is TB IMO. I still think the Wings finish 5th tho.

The real Black Hawk was bald lol. Although the logo does bear a striking resemblance. Black Hawk Btw, the BlackHawk sex abuse thread is gone now too. What does everyone think about Cheveldayoff and Coach Q? Should they be banned from the NHL? Is it fair to WPG or FLA to lose a GM snd HC? Would those teams be canceled if they didn't fire them? -
Why do so many players go from Red Wings to out of the league? Pushor, Eriksson, Kuznetsov, Brunner, Leino, (Devereaux?).... All disappeared after taking off the Winged Wheel. At least Abby walked away with $30 million and a hot wife. I wouldn't call that "sad".

They could still keep the name. Black Hawks could literally just be a hawk with black feathers. U of Miami Ohio went from Redmen to RedHawks. Univ of North Dakota went from Fighting Sioux to Fighting Hawks. They would probably have to change the logo from the Indian face to a black hawk tho. -
