No. As Dickie said, he didnt make the roster and he didn't burn a year of eligibility by being sent down so he still has 3 years on his contract I think. He would get to keep his signing bonus if he signed one, but he only gets paid his 925k when he's on the roster or playing in a pro minor league (unless of course they agreed to a different minor league salary). Talk about glass half empty. 8th in scoring for an 19 year old defensemen is promising in any league. He's playing against 20 and 21 year olds. Besides he's a defenseman, so I'd rather he maybe be good at say...defense.

I believe its a rule that because of his age, he has to be sent down to his junior team if he doesn't make the Wings roster. He can't be sent down to GR as long as his age (under 20 or less than 4 years in Juniors) makes him eligible to play in the CHL. Otherwise all 18 and 19 year olds would want to be sent to the AHL to make more money then go back to juniors (Teams would prefer this too so that they have more control over the player's development) Once his WHL season is over, he can be reassigned to GR and finish out the season there. I don't know of any links to post for this tho. Just my understanding. Hope you're right.

Yep. Everyone knows its bogus. His allergy is he's older, less effective, and taking up cap space. The league can't do much about it though, they can't really prove it and they're probably afraid of a grievance/lawsuit from the NHLPA. LTIR is becoming the equivalent of a "therapy" dog. There are legitimate service animals out there, which is fine, but then you have those crazy ladies at Walmart or Meijer who don't have a legitimate claim to one. They just want to take their pet with them to the store so they just claim its a "therapy" dog even tho they have no documentation or proof of it. And the stores won't really do much about it, they're too afraid of "offending" them to require any sort of proof. Instead lets just make the rest of us have to worry about finding pet hair in our food or having our pet allergies aggravated because someone has an unhealthy attachment to their animals. PET PEEVE! Not me. I didn't want Tippett cuz we didn't need anymore wingers. Between Rass and Vilardi, I was OK with either one. They both filled a need and I didn't think one was better than the other.
