He'll get an "A" eventually. Larkin will wear the "C" as long as he plays in Detroit.
-
That will happen before the end of the coming season.
-
Somewhat concerning tho. If he isn't the next Pronger/Chelios/Webber out of the gate, how fast before fans turn on him?
-
Too many F in GR. Smith should be on the Wings roster over Gagner. No way Cholowski isnt on the Wings roster. Did you factor in waiver exemptions or lack thereof?
-
Seider won't be captain over Larkin.

Bruins win series 4-1. Mantha"s season lasts a whole 2 weeks longer. Looks like Yzerman wins that trade.

The basic order of the picks is determined as follows:[9] The teams that did not qualify for the playoffs the previous season (picks 1–16) The teams that made the playoffs in the previous season but did not win either their division in the regular season or play in the Conference Finals (picks 17–24 up to 28) The teams that won their divisions in the previous season but did not play in the Conference Finals (potentially picks 25–28) The teams that lose in Conference Finals (picks 29 and 30) The team that was the runner-up in the Stanley Cup Finals (pick 31) The team that won the Stanley Cup in the previous season (pick 32) The Caps fall into the 2nd group.

So then how do you say "eemil"?
-
Doesn't apply. One "o" and 2 "o"s make 2 different sounds.
-
Pronger, Chelios, Weber...I would happy with any of those outcomes.
-
Why the 2 e's in his first name tho? What do you accomplish with 2 e's that you cant accomplish with one? This troubles me greatly.
-
I dont think Edler gets you anymore in a trade than Merrill at this point.
-
I like Martinez and Reilly as options to pair with Seider. I would settle for Oleksiak. Not really interested in anyone else on that list.
-
I thought about that. But Chris was better offensively, no?
-
Oh yeah. Forgot about that Viking blood.
-
You hear that argument a lot. But let's be honest, you're more likely to reach your destination on a cruise ship then a rowboat. And you'll have a lot more fun getting there.
-
He does have the saving grace of losing to a Cup finalist at least.
-
It will depend on the regular season finishes of the 8 teams that lose in the 1st round, I think. So 17-24 is possible with that pick if they lose to Boston. Gotta hope for more upsets. I wouldn't call 3 inches a full mast.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Take it easy. Does he have that cannon tho?

I don't think Hamilton is even on Yzerman"s radar. He's the highest profile D available, which means he'll get the biggest contract. A 6+ year term at 8+ mil per is not out of the question. This is not the type of deal a rebuilding team should make with a 28 year old defenseman. Dougie probably returns to Carolina anyway. Pass. Staal was only here as a salary dump. I don't think Yzerman brings him back as a free agent when better options are available. Assuming we'll have Hronek, Seider, and Stecher doen the right side, I expect SY will go after left handed dmen that compliment those 3. DeKeyser and Cholowski will most likely be on the roster. I would pair Cholowski with the more defensively reliable Stecher on the 3rd pairing. DeKeyser could be a fit with Seider (assuming its not top pair duty), but I would rather put him farther down the lineup, perhaps as a 7th D or partnering him with Stecher when it's time to sit Cholowski. As far as free agents, Stevie should be looking at under 30, left handed D, who could be signed to 2-4 year contracts. As a defensive partner with Hronek, I would take a serious look at Adam Larsson or Ryan Murray. Neither will come cheap, but I don't think either will need to be signed long term. Considering they'll be playing top pair to start the season, I don't think it would be a bad idea to bring on at least one high end LD. Seider being more physical and defensively adept, I would look for some help by bringing in a defensive partner with some offense. My choices here would be Alec Martinez or Mike Reilly. Obviously, Martinez is long in the tooth, but he is a solid 2way dman coming off of a career offensive season. Might be worth a 1 or 2 year deal as partner for Seider until a prospect moves up to replace him Mike Reilly is a late bloomer. But he's also cheap. He's played well with rookies in the past and has proven himself a solid puck mover over the last season. Could be a relatively cheap signing if Yzerman goes big with Larsson or Murray. Larsson/Murray - Hronek Martinez/Reilly - Seider Cholowski/DeKeyser - Stecher

Don't poo poo the next Chris Pronger.
