Who gets hurt in this scenario?
-
It worked for Cleary.
-
I feel like you're just playing dumb.

It would be more fair than compensatory picks which pushes every team that follows down one spot. And this happens sometimes too. It's not that hard. If the Coyotes would have picked 10th, than teams 1-9 still pick in the same spot. Their draft order is unaffected. The 11th place team now picks 10th, the 12th place team now picks 11th and so on. It's not really unfair to anyone. Picks 1-9 are still getting better players than teams 10-31, presumably. But since the draft order for 2021 hasn't been determined yet, then most likely Arizona just won't have a ball in the hopper if they don't make the playoffs. And the teams who finish better than them will just move up one spot in the draft if they do make the playoffs. Giving the pick to another team would be WAY more unfair.

There would've been 32 picks before Arizona's forfeiture.

The Wings never traded Kyle Quincey.

Huh? I was one of the biggest Holland supporters here. And I was optimistic, but not overly excited to replace him with Yzerman based on his record as a GM. That said, I don't see the Fabbri deal as a huge overpayment. I think he could've gotten that on the open market. And yes, I realize he was a RFA, so he had way less bargaining power. But, I'm willing to give SY the benefit of the doubt on this one. Just like I did for all of Holland's moves, even the ones that had people calling for his head. What's wrong with just being patient and waiting to see how things turn out? It may end up being a bad contract, it may not. In the meantime, I'll wait to see. I've never understood the rush to judgment on trades, player signings, or draft picks. Time will reveal all truths. I just wish this applied to every event in our lives, not just sports.

Why would the NHL cancel games? I don't get it.
-
Cleary is reserved for the Svech discussions.
-
Yes. I know.
-
Considering his salary is still less than 3 mil, I doubt it.

No one gets those picks. The league can and does add compensatory picks and subtracts sanctioned draft picks. There will only be 31 picks in the first round of the 2021 draft. If Arizona is a lottery team, that just increases the odds for everyone else in the draft lottery.

Fail to see how an opinion is baseless, but... 1. The Wings are rebuilding and need to get their younger players onto the roster. Larkin, Mantha, Bert, Fabbri, Rasmussen, Zadina, Svechnikov, Timashev, Ehn, Smith, Hirose, Veleno That's 12 forwards right there. Plus Erne and Perlini are RFAs. 2. Nielsen and Abdelkader's contracts aren't up until after Helm's, so they will still be on the roster. 3. For these reasons, Helm may be the odd man out. Edit: Forgot about Glendening. He'll be an UFA too and will be brought back before Helm.

Fabbri doesn't have "Helm Hands". Fabbri wins.
-
Umm. That's what middle 6 wingers make (which is what he is). Helm was averaging like 3.8 a season as a career 3rd liner.
-
You fell for the classic sock troll.
-
Glendening would be an UFA. No need to protect him. Just re-sign him July 1st. Helm may not be back after this season. Protect Svech.

More interested in Bill and Ted 3.

You don't think it's a coincedence that a new member pops up when ever you're on one of your "30 day vacations"?
-
80%. That's 4 out of 5. (Trying to think of 5 male Canadian members of LGW)
-
So now you're debating yourself?
-
I'm not so sure Stutzle will be a center.
-
Hey. We got our Mantha. I remember all of the enthusiasm in here that he would be a 2nd line scoring winger. Now 3rd liner might be our best hope.
-
Yes. They may prefer a combination of a RH D Drysdale and (insert some other forward here not named Stutzle or Byfield) over Byfield/Stutzle and LH D Jake Sanderson, for example. If it was me, and I had no top pair caliber RHD in my system, I would prefer the former scenario because I'm filling a harder need to find with a top tier player in Drysdale and still getting a solid F, even if they're a step below Stutzle/Byfield

I remember when he was our Zadina before we had Zadina and now Zadina may not be Zadina.
