Did you miss the part where we traded him to Edmonton?

The force is slow with this one.

Obviously not one of the best, but certainly not catastrophic. It was a meh signing that brought in a veteran dman to a corp that desperately needed some stability. Unfortunately for TD, there were never any top pair D on the roster so he was forced to play above his skill level (like most of the D), and below his age level, most of the time. He broke down sooner than expected, although I think it was evident that he wasn't going to live up to the backend of that contract. Which is not all that uncommon in signing players these days. Wish he would've been more help to the young D, but it is what it is.

So your post now comes right after mine. I am assuming you were referring to all of the recent spamming and not me being back?

DK: "I wonder if Miller knows I banged his mom." Abby: "My GF is way hotter than me. It helps when you're about to be overpaid by millions." Miller: "The gray isn't real. I just do it to get attention." Glenny: "I heard that if you put in my name on LGW.com it will come out as disney.com." Larkin: "If one more person calls me a 2C. Imma jump over this railing."

Actually, he looks like Cameron Frye in this pic.
-
The Wings still wouldnt make the playoffs. Ha Ha.
-
I'm just surprised by how many of those words got thru the filter tbh.

This pic is like 4 years old. Of course a rookie isn't part of things yet.

Yeah but this team wasnt all kids. There were still quite a few Holland vets left over that knew this team was bad before the season even started. I think those were the guys who became the paycheck collectors, which is a shame considering those were the guys who should have been the leaders in the locker room and setting the example on the ice. I dont think it was all attributable to just tuning out Blash. I think it was a combination of playing for a bad team, playing for a development coach, declining skills, and the physical toll from being aged players that caused the vets to just call it in every game. The kids, for the most part, seemed to at least try. I had no complaints with the attitudes of Mantha, Bert, Zadina, or Ehn, for example. But without the proper leadership, you probably can't expect the best from all of your kids.

1.I went purely by points because that's what 1C's are supposed to do....score 2. It was an incomplete season, and going by points, Larkin finished where he did among centers. That's the facts. Arguing where players would've finished if the season was a full season is speculative. It's entirely possible he would've been passed up by other players, but he could have passed other players above him as well. We'll never know. I'm just going with the data that isn't speculative. 3. Yes, I would agree that Crosby is certainly a 1C even if his points didn't show it this season. But that just goes to show that guys can move up and down that list, and in and out of the top 31, based on a multitude of factors. And considering it's not the same 31 guys every year, maybe there can actually be more than 31 first line centers in the NHL at any given time. 4. You can include other kinds of data too if you want. But if a guy is putting up the points to justify his role as a 1C, I don't see how any of the rest of it matters. 5. Larkin is a poor man's 1C. The numbers prove that to me. If we manage to draft a guy (fingers crossed) who can push him down to 2C, that would be great, as certainly an improvement can be made at that position.

I won't search back thru hundreds of pages to find out where your analysis is coming from. I will link 2 pages that show that Larkin has been a 1C in scoring over the last 2 seasons. https://www.foxsports.com/nhl/stats?season=2019&category=SCORING&group=1&sort=3&time=0&pos=0&team=0&qual=1&sortOrder=0&page=1 It was a down year for Dylan this season, but he still finished 58th in scoring among forwards. Eliminate the wingers and Larkin finishes at 31st among centers. Out of 31 teams, that would make him the last 1C in, but still a 1C despite playing on the worst offensively and lowest scoring team. https://www.foxsports.com/nhl/stats?season=2018&category=SCORING&group=1&sort=3&time=0&pos=1&team=0&qual=1&sortOrder=0&page=1 This list puts him at 23rd among centers in scoring last season, making him comfortably a 1C.

I literally have nothing specific about him to point to. It's just one of those things where its what my gut is telling me. However, my gut can be wrong, so I won't stubbornly argue the point.

I didn't know Captain was a lifetime appointment. Captains get changed all the time. What is the harm in giving Larkin a chance to prove himself in the role he's been groomed for? Nope. C= Larkin A= Seider, Bertuzzi
-
Maybe the league should gift the first overall to Minnesota. We wouldn't want them to riot or anything. Im less convinced about Drysdale than I was about Bowen or even Q. Hughes.
-
It's kind of hard to bring in a new coach now when you don't know when the draft, training camp, free agency and season start. Considering a HC has input into draft picks and free agent signings, implements his systems during training camp, and needs time to prepare his team for a new season, it wouldn't make sense to make a change this off season. You literally just started a thread advocating for Glendening as captain.
-
I would agree that Bertuzzi makes a good wing man. I think every team captain needs one of those. Sorta like the buddy cop thing. Larkin is Joe Friday and Bertuzzi is whoever the Tom Hanks character was. Or Larkin is Murtaugh and Bertuzzi is Riggs.
-
Depending on who picks above us, we might have a couple really good ones to choose from. Some dumb*** will take Askarov or Drysdale in the top 3.
-
Because they were ALL lackluster players. He doesn't, but he's the best young talent on the roster.
-
It's Larkin.

I stand corrected. Calling Zadina a bust is man-made too.
