Yes. You are saying that Hayton is better. For Zadina to finish 5th in a redraft, he would have to finish behind Dahlin, Svech, Hughes, and Tkachuk, but ahead of Kotkaniemi and Hayton. To which your response was the above.
-
The only reason Zadina dropped at all is because Hughes moved up into 3rd?. That pushes everyone after that down one spot at least. Just because Hughes has moved up in his draft class doesnt make Zadina out to be any worse than he was when he was drafted.
-
You put Kotkaniemi and Hayton above Zadina despite the fact that Zadina has better numbers. You tried your best to explain Kotkaniemi. Back up why Hayton should be above him. Yeah. Because he was injured for part of it. Just like Kotka was. A false equivalency would be excusing poor numbers because of injury for one player (Kotkaniemi) and ignoring it for another players numbers (Zadina). And even with his injury this season, Zadina still outperformed Kotka's healthy season on a far better team. Another fact you choose to ignore.
-
My bad. Forgot to add the 9 games played from the previous year. Regardless, Kotkaniemi's first full season (healthy): 79 games, 34 points, +1 Montreal's team average was a +3. They had 44 wins and finished one spot out of the playoffs. Kotka was below his team average in +/- and finished with only a 0.43 PPG average on a better team. Zadina's first full season (lower body injury): 28 games, 15 points, -13 Detroit's team average was a -13. They were on pace to win only 20 games. They finished dead last in the entire league. Zadina had a -13 ( the team average) and a 0.54 PPG average on a far worse team. So taking all things into account: An injured Zadina outperformed a healthy Kotkaniemi both offensively and defensively in their first full seasons despite Zadina playing on a far worse team. And you still haven't explained how Hayton is better than Zadina.
-
Larkin is better defensively than Ovechkin. But if you had to choose one...
-
Ideally you want your top 6 F to play both sides, true. But, you don't draft a guy at 3 or 6 for his defense. You expect him to be able to score. Even if Kotka is better at defense, I don't care. Would rather have the guy who's better at offense (Zadina).
-
I'm cheap. I wait till the new version is about to come out so I can get it at a discount. Or I buy it used.
-
Since when does being better defensively matter? Both Zadina and Kotka were drafted to be high end forwards. You don't draft forwards that high for their defense. You expect them to be able to score. Which Zadina has done a better job of than Kotka. And while Kotka was battling complications from a concussion, Zadina was battling a lower body injury. You can't excuse one's performance for injury and completely ignore the other. Both players suffered injuries. Zadina just performed better. Simple. And how do you support your argument that Hayton has been better?

Goalies with Murray's stats are available for nothing. Don't waste assets.

Elliotte Friedman: Swedish UFA Forward Mathias Brome to Sign with Wings

"So there have been many people who have jumped to the conclusion that Datsyuk is homophobic. He might or might not be, I don't know. It's just as likely that Datsyuk simply does not want to speak out against his church or to say something that would get him in hot water in Russia. To jump to a conclusion either way on that small quote is irresponsible... By simply being asked that question Datsyuk is in a no-win situation; he supports the anti-*** laws and he is hammered in North America, he supports *** rights and he's in trouble in Russia." From the article. -

Did you even read the article? And it's coming from the mainstream media who I would have expected to roast him. -
No. He prefers to be right, even when facts and figures say otherwise.
-
Jesperi Kotkaniemi: 115 NHL games played. 42 points. 0.36 PPG average. Barrett Hayton: Only 20 NHL games played so far. 4 points. 0.20 PPG average. Filip Zadina: 34 NHL games played. 18 points. 0.53 PPG average. I can pick any random 2nd grader off the school bus and ask them which of these players is the best so far and they would all pick #3. You're either joking or know nothing about hockey.

https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/pavel-datsyuk-on-new-russian-law-im-an-orthodox-and-that-says-it-all/ Datsyuk never said anything homophobic. He basically gave a generic "no comment" response. He didn't speak out against it. Just because someone doesn't support something doesn't mean they oppose it. Tolerance falls somewhere in between. -

No, Kaepernick is still unsigned. He's the perfect example of a guy who isn't a good enough player for a GM to take the risk of signing him. Despite the fact that the mainstream media went out of their way to pressure teams to sign him. But then you have guys like Michael Vick, who did much worse IMO, who have the skill to still get a job because their personal talent outweighs their personal baggage. That's why guys like Kutnetsov will always have jobs and guys like Leipsic won't. It's not fair, but it's just how the world works. -
Hudler is a different player than Nyquist/Tatar. I don't see Zadina as any of those 3. I think he becomes more of a Hossa lite.

The guy is free to say whatever he wants (in the US anyway), but if he offends the wrong people, a mediocre player shouldn't get another chance per the media. Unless of course he's a mediocre backup QB, who offended people who aren't woke, by exhibiting his Constitutional right. Then he deserves a 2nd chance, his own public tryout, special treatment, and the support of the media for his lawsuit against his former league. -
At least Lefty gets his Hossa and he can finally put Franzen to bed.

That's him. And yes, the rules in a court of law are completely different from those in the court of public opinion. Which many public figures find themselves convicted in, and the consequences can be just as damaging. And I never argued that Donald Sterling shouldn't have been punished. (Yes, his name is Donald, not David. Wouldn't want to misremember a first name from 6 years ago. That might make my entire post lack credibility, lol.) You can't put the cat back in the bag at that point and pretend like he never said it. It was out there for everyone to hear. The league had no choice to take action against him to protect their image. That didn't make it fair or just tho. An individual should be able to think or believe whatever they want, in private, so long as it doesnt manifest itself into illegal forms of discrimination. Its funny tho, the people who protest holding up signs warning about "1984" are also the people who are ok with using the same Orwellian tactics to ruin others. -

No that was Don Imus. And he was rightfully fired from his radio show because he said it over the airways. Sterling said something racist to a girl he was with while she was secretly recording him without his knowledge. 2 totally different scenarios. But I guess it doesnt matter in the end. As long as all the deplorables are punished, the ends justify the means. Illegally obtained recordings, hidden cameras, we cant allow people to have any civil liberties or individual rights when theres a social war to win. Free thought is forbidden if its not woke. -

You're absolutely right Kip. The recording had absolutely nothing to do with it. Lol. -

David Sterling didn't lose a job, he lost his entire franchise because of something he said in private that was being recorded without his knowledge (which is illegal in many states). This is the world we live in now. -
