Cuz Fabbri was bumped down a line and was asked to play better defensively. But he couldn't.

Ahhhhh, George Street on a Wednesday.

    I dunno. It's just what I've heard.

What? No he's not. Zadina has been better than Fabbri using almost every metric except 5v5 scoring (not sure where I picked up this last bit but apparently it's true)

    Babs got fired

You took the time to properly spell his name. You obviously respect him.
  10. He wasn't bad at all. Just pointless in the context of the season. But that streak had to continue I guess.

One of the greatest. I'm really sad that we've lost good quality people on here like Flashy G and I'm left stuck with you guys.

False. Prasanth actually broke down Fabbri's defensive game on The Athletic's "Wings for Breakfast" podcast. Spoiler: he's not good at it.

    You double down on Glendenning

This is where I do that thing where I shift the argument to a more winnable narrative
  15. No kidding. Apparently, amidst that hell storm of injuries (Zetterback, Dastyuk) your boy Babcock ordered Holland to get him a veteran he could abuse in front of the kids (Nyquist, Tatar, Jurco, Sheahan) to scare them and the spineless jag complied. Still the worst Red Wings trade of the salary cap era.

    Babs got fired

That's easy: that he was the man I swear management could have used reverse psychology on him: Hey Babs, whatever you do, don't play Mathews in the last 10 minutes of game seven. That's an order!

    Babs got fired

But Trashill has really helped Zagina with his game.

    Babs got fired

How bout not wanting Babcock back because he's not always the best coach for the job?

Think about it. Fabbri sucks defensively and can't outscore/outdrive this. DLR couldn't score but was able to compensate by playing outstanding D. I'm willing to bet this team's goal diff pre trade was better (adjusted for games played of course) than post trade
  20. Holland was really really good at this. Because he really did believe they were good players. Same with Helm, Nielsen, Ericsson, Abdlekader, etc. Other teams were taken off guard by his sincere evaluations of Smith's upside for example. Yzerman's so disgusted with this poop-mess he's inherited that he is incapable of pretending anyone's any good. Players Holland couldn't hype for whatever reason: - Jarnkrok - Janmark You know, actually decent players.

This Mantha thread is very very disappointing now.

I think the Bolts will do OK this year. I agree with the Babs stuff.

Trade deadline bait available this year?

Yzerman won't overpay, I agree. LOL

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think Yzerman's worst trade was DLR for Fabbri. This team's goal differential really went to crap defensively after that. Everything else he did had little effect one way or the other, and you can't blame a guy for trying.
