I'm confused. What are we trying to prove here? That sometimes players are drafted in an order that defies any pre-draft rankings? That some teams focus on need while others go BPA? Who gives a crap? The way I see it, we started the "official" rebuild in 2016 when we took Rasmussen. What's a reasonable gestation period before you want to see results? 5 years? Yeah, let's say that. So, in 5 years I expect to see a bunch of good young players on our roster. If we're better than a whole bunch of other teams, then we've done a good job. Do I care where the players come from vs where they were supposed to come from? Top 10 pick? 2nd rounder? 4th rounder? College signing? Not. one. bit. Now, if we still suck in 5 years we can do the revisionist coulda-woulda-shoulda thing. Until then, I'm not too worried about who was drafted when, and who we picked vs who we didn't.

Better trade him at the draft then. Because he's going to return to medium-rare AA next year, at least until Feb, when the rest of the league actually cares about beating us.

Well, I hate to break it to you but there's a very good chance we finish 4th last. And a decent chance we catch Buffalo for 5th. Putting our odds of drafting in the 6 - 8 range greater than the odds of drafting 5th or higher.

I want him to score more when it matters. Not just pad his stats during the meaningless home stretch of a lost season.

So, who will be the BPA at #6 or #7?
