Yep. This place would have been real chill if Holland and Wright had reached back for a 23rd overall guy. Also, fear not, Bergrren the Swedish has 3 assists in 16 games in the SHL. He got this! -

Get's better? I think every team wants that from every player they draft no? Every single player Detroit "passed up" for Zadina is currently also not playing in the NHL. Except for Isac Lundestrom. Would you have prefered they take him instead? -
I bolded the part he'll try and cherry pick.

I agree with this. I just don't think a team with two generational superstars one year removed from back to back cups should get Jack Hughes. It's counterintuitive. The draft is supposed to help bad teams become competitive not reward good teams for taking a year off. This league has done everything from turning Brian Elliots arms into salisbury steak to eliminating tie games. So they ain't exactly traditionalists. And one thing they're certainly good at is fixing loopholes that don't benefit the league ( see 7 and 8 year max deals and cap recapture penalties). Yada yada etc. Basically, I think they can (and will) clause the hell out of this s*** to make it right. But they'll wait until Pittsburgh or Chicago reap the rewards of this flaw before they fix it.

If it truly was, it would benefit all 31 teams. If it continues to be a lottery, that the league influences with odds they predetermine depending on where you finish, then the league can surely modify some things. After all, they've already f***ed with it a few times. #fakeparity

All of this sort of begs the question: Should the draft odds have some sort of statistical coefficient or multiplier that takes into account a teams recent success? For example, the Penguins are only one year removed from a cup. Regardless of how bad they are this year, that should have some bearing on how early their ball drops. I'd like to see it.

According to LGWs, "one minute ago".

If any of Pittsburgh, Chicago, LA, or St Louis finish last, they should be made to draft 31st.

I voted for James Russell. But I'd be happy having all three back. I'd also be cool with an extra 1st and 2nd rounder this June.

Western scout eh. Wonder what his thoughts on Rasmussen and Cholowski were.

Ah. For real? Or like when Leftwinger says>>>>>>>

Then how do you know anything about McIssac?

I sort of expected Veleno to dominate the Q a bit more than he has. He's currently 18th in scoring at 1.35 ppg. And you're right. They are the same age. Zadina is 2nd on the Griffins in goals scored. Playing as an 18 year old, against men in a league that's hard to score in on a team that has trouble generating offense most nights. With electrifying centers such as Holmstrom, Ehn, Turgeon, and Camper. Veleno's playing against little french boys who can barely do Movember. So, I don't know why anyone can currently be disappointed in Zadina and so high in Veleno in the same breath. But whatevs. I'm sure they'll both be more than fine. On another note: McIssac's a ppg player right now in Halifax. 15th in defensive scoring despite missing a considerable amount of games. Kid's a gem.
