It's a legit concern considering there's a four man race for two D spots and three of those candidates were playing tonight. Based on your response, I'm guessing Cholowski was OK tonight? Basically, I didn't see the game. But I know 6 GA happened. So I want to know who sucked on D. I see a lot of "Vanek 's Gandalf" and "Mantha is the next Temmu Selanne" type comments. But given what this team's real issue is, I also expected to see some of "OMG Sulak WTF?" type comments. Were those 6 on Jimmy?

I'm not one of the herd that's peeing his pants over the idea of Yzerman coming back as GM and saving this franchise BUT I do think that it would be much easier for someone (like Yzerman) to come in and clean house (like Yzerman did in Tampa) then to expect Holland to do it. They are his contracts and he is loyal.

The only way they do this is via a "hockey trade" with salary going back the other way or through the draft - not a viable option for them since they won't be bad enough to get immediate impact through the draft and most D-prospects taken later in round 1 take 2-3 years to develop. So yes, they can trade Nylander or Marner but as history has shown us, that gets you Adam ******* Larson. Soon the Leafs will know what Holland's been saying all along. Agreed. The risk is that, for Blashill, the low hanging fruit is to play your grinders big minutes in all situations at the expense of depriving your youth of valuable playing time and experience.

Let me clarify. If this team can win games by playing exciting hockey, getting great goaltending,scoring on their PP, getting 30 goals out of Mantha, 70pts out of Larkin, a solid effort out of AA, and good season from an acceptable number of rookies? Great. Then I don't care about where they finish or draft. If they plan on being hard on the forecheck and backcheck as part of this process and it's fun to watch? Great. Then I don't care about where they finish or draft. IF THEY HOPE TO MAKE UP FOR LACK OF TALENT BY GRINDING IT OUT AND PLAYING GLENDENNING, HELM, AND ABDLEKADER 15 - 20 MINUTES A NIGHT "BECAUSE THEY GIVE IT HELL FOR 60" FOR THE SAKE OF WHAT (???)
