You'd be extremely happy with two top 10 picks? No s***! No personal offense, but this sort of statement isproblematic for me. First of all, the words "extremely happy". Dislike. It's as if "happiness" isn't enough. It has to be extreme. Secondly, that this all hinges on unrealistic expectations, sort of sums up some LGWers afflicted mentality. How about being "really happy" with one top 10 pick? Like the highest pick since Keith Primeau was drafted in 1990 (28 ******* years ago)? I'd be really happy with that.

I agree in theory with everything you've said. But I also have a wider lens and a comprehension of the fact that the the Wings, if you can take their word for it, do not want/plan to as bad as they were this year in 18/19. And I tend to agree with this. I think it's more important for the development of 'Grade A' youngsters like Larkin, Mantha, and Rasmussen that they have fun coming to the rink and winning a few close games than it is for Svechnikov to play 8 minutes a night on the third line. It's better for the organization, it should be better 'long term' for Svechnikov to prove he can produce in the AHL, and should be of non-brainer level prefernce to the fan base as well. But this team wants to win a few games and considering they lost more one goal games than anyone last year, and lost Tatar's 25, it's pretty clear that they need to add some scoring.
