Cool. So 50/50. Except that Bouchard is better.

Pffft. Tyler Wright runs the draft. Before him, Jim Nill. Except when they make a bad pick like Brendan Smith. That was Holland.

Erik Karlsson comes to mind. You're also trying to beg a question under the pretense that anyone other than Dahlin will be a #1D. When in reality the ceiling for most of the top ten picks is "first pair D".

So could Ryan Sproul.......... I'll take a guy who can, if he reaches his upside, dominate the entire flow of a game with skating and possession over a big strong OHLer who can make an outlet pass and is "pretty good" at a bunch of stuff. Bouchard will NEVER get to the level that Hughes can.

Hughes is the most dynamic offensive Dman in the draft. Like hands ******* down. All 'Bore"chard has over Hughes is size, strength, and facial stubble. But guess what? Once he starts playing against men his true vanilla will be coned for all to lick. Book it.

Booby Macs Latest Draft Rankings What a ringing endorsement of his skating. I'd rather Dobson, who is ranked higher, by the way. Hell, I wanted Kotkaneimi back whe he was just inside the top 10 before he rose into the top five and everyone climbed onto his lap. FTR, Hughes is ranked 8th on this list, but he's a high reward pick. Anyway Kenny, just take the BPA. (It won't be Bouchard)

Speed. I've heard his skating is only average. Listen, I've basically decided that in this draft that Bouchard, for me, is going to be what Rasmussen was to LGWs last year. Meaning: I'm going to freak out for no informed reason if they draft him and go on and on with authority about how a couple of players taken just after him were the better choice. Let's see how annoying that gets.

Wouldn't take him at 6 right now either.

I duuno. Probably heard it from one of you guys back in March or something. How can you say that when his skill level doesn't even come close to Hughes?

Cause spot 6 is just too damn high for this org.

Bouchard the Bore. Safe pick. Low risk low reward. Vanilla.

B P A Seriously. I just hope Holland doesn't get cute. Take the best player at 6 and make your fancy-pants Holland draft trades later in the 1st round. I know I know, you want a bif ol' scoop of vanilla,

Yet it will probably be considered a "reach" if the Wings take him at 6

If only Ken Holland had your resources, scouting abilities, GM experience and natural intuition.

first off: thanks for starting this thread KRS - good idea 2nd - I hate both Domi and HowmuchwoodcouldGalchenyukChucK equally 3rd - I hate Bergevin and the Habs ownership because they are butt-rogering that great franchise so I hope Alex scores 30 in Arizona and wins the Selke 4rd - Habs were already one of the weakest teams up the middle in the League before this trade so maybe this means they really are taking the Finn 3rd exciting stuff !

You can't always go by camp though. In camp Rasmussen >> Hicketts and they send his ass back to Jr. Maybe they wanted lil Joe to have a bigger role in Grand Rapids. But he's tiny and has overcome great odds and always looks like he's doing stuff. Plucky! That's the word.

Is "from Michigan" another way of saying "born in Florida and lived most of his life in the Toronto area and now plays hockey in Michigan" ? Or is it another way of saying "just another played-out cliche trope bulls*** anti-Holland narrative f*** yeah!!!" Just wondrin'

Smaller. Better two-way player. Exactly. This team needs elite players. Not a stable of secondary ones.

Zadina will be better than Mantha. He probably is already. It's not just those players I mentioned. It's basically every first and second rounder we've drafted since I can remember (including Tatar). I'd give 'em all away in a second for a potential elite winger and all-star (which Mantha wll never be) . I know I'm probably pushing your buttons a bit here because Mantha's your guy, but I'm really not trying to. To me, on a good team, he's a fringe 1st liner and most likely, at best, a secondary scorer. He's Jordan Eberle/Jeff Skinner. Zadina's gonna be a Kucherov/Hall.
