Yeah. The way I see it is Yzerman has around 14M to blow on cocaine n hookers or 2 really good players over the next year or two. He just has to pick the best ones. Then get at least above average value out of those 900k to 3M guys, At some point though, someone on this current roster, a prospect at the door, or a kid from this years draft really has to explode somehow. Or we fugged, But I digressssss

Say these extensions are 20M. + say 1.8 for Veleno this summer which we’ll round off to 2M. Total of 22M Wings have almost 50M in space next year right now. Assuming flat cap (won’t be) By my count (which includes Kasper Edvinsson Mazur) the Wings would have 16 players signed to start 24-25 with I think 26M left over. They could hypothetically give DCat 8 and say someone else 6 and have 12M left for 5 players. Easy peezy no? The only way Yguy is quiet is if he thinks nexts year’s UFA crop is slam-dunk better IMO Seems like a good strategy to fix the league’s 2nd worst 5-on-5 offence
