It's a lot easier to trade away your 2C when you have a budding superstar as your 1C. Maybe I just don't see your point. Sakic is awesome because he traded someone who didn't want to be on the team, so now Yzerman should do this even though his situation isn't the same?

lol I was there with some family for the back-to-backs (Colorado and NJ) It wasn't until the day after the NJ game that we grabbed our dogs. Just before crossing the border. Close enough I guess.

Coming in to this season I expected very little from Yzerman and that's mostly what he delivered. IMO he just made his first real trade yesterday and it was a little boring but also probably quite fair. The Fabbri deal was good. The Perlini deal was less good. None of the other trades matter much. What more do you want..... I give the season a "Z - " and Yzerman gets a "C" just by association. But this is not really his team yet either, so it's sort of an incomplete grade.

Was there in 14 for Lidstrom #retirement - stayed at Greektown Casino (convenient) - had BBQ at Slows ("OK" maybe a little overrated but you'll likely pass old Tiger Stadium site en route and are about 20 feet away from Michigan Central) - went to Motown Museum (totally rad) - ate some coneys at Lafayette - did go to Hockeytown Cafe (it's like Hard Rock - wayyyyyy to on the nose for me, but hey, it's close to LCA) Have a great time @arag

Agreed. It's the single, easiest thing Yzerman can do to try and improve this team. Also, if GM is still trying to see what he truly has in some of these players, why not see how they perform in a different system, with a new voice? Blashill is gonzo. 100%.
