I agree with you mostly. I celebrated 1 win last night, not a series win. A split is still possible, and the Flamers are very god at home. We need a win Sunday, and i will start smiling and breathing a little easier. It's just one game, remember, we split with them 2 seasons ago. Oh, and Hudler sits. No question.

Yeah, who leads the Preds in PIMs? Yeah, I would rather have a guy that kills them, not makes them in abundance. For all the "good" things he does for his team (which by the way cannot be validated as offense or defense apparently) he sure makes a lot of problems for them on the PK. Both were intents to injure (if it was intentional, as in our theorhetical argument). The outcome shouldn't make them more or less dirty than the other, they are both dirty, especially if Bert's wasn't completely his fault. The 700 pounds that piled on Moore couldn't have helped him any and probably was the cause of the break.

1. Detroit is not paying him $5 million. His cap hit is under $2 million. 2. Adamant, not animate. 3. Once again, no one is expecting him to steal games. Wings fans know play-off Bertuzzi well, we want a mean grinder who parks in front of the net and causes problems. If he floats around and only occasionally gets involved, the first people who will complain are on this board. But, if he does do his job, Calgary will have to do more than trap and dump for 3 periods against 1 line. They will have 2 highly skilled offensive lines to shut down.

Dear Red Wings, There have been times in my life (mainly the last 3 seasons around April and May) when I have cursed you mercilessly. But I am still your biggest fan. I will always root for you. I will always go hoarse when you score in OT. I will always want Pavel to have the puck when he is on this ice. I will always want Lidstrom to take the point shot. My anger comes from the fact that Hartnell will play in the next game and Cheechoo is done for the play-offs (probably). If he has done that to Hank, Lids, or Dats, I would be planning a trip to Toronto and NYC right now to talk to the head of suspensions. He should be out for as long as the injured player is out. If it had been a clean check and Cheechoo had a season ending concussion or broken ankle from the landing, that's one thing, but on a penalized play he should be suspended for the rest of the PO's.

Calm down. He's fine. Give him a period to work the kinks out and find his form and he will be unstoppable like always.

Don't we think highly of our pseudo-tough guys. The Sharks are bigger, stronger, and faster than the Preds. And hopefully it will turn into a pushing contest, beat the hell out of each other for 7 games. Prediction: the Pred that goes down in game 2 (besides Fartnell) is Erat.

That's the thing, there is no pressur eon him. He is usually on a team where he is expected to be a game breaker every night. He is here to be a physical presence, that's it. The only way he let's down fans here is if he floats around and doesn't get involved in the play. He is expected to mix it up, hit people, and take feeds from Pavel and Lang. So far, after that long of an injury time, 2 goals in 8 games is impressive to me. Plus the fact that people injure themselves when they run into him. He's not the same player you faced, true, but he's not on the Canucks either.

Kills penalties. Name an offensive or defensive upside for Tootoo. You said Bert did something way worse. But his was unintentional and is his only blemish on his record. Hartnell is another story, and unintentional doesn't come up a whole lot with Hartnell and his injuries.

That's a BOLD statemet. A 100% Bert (which he will be on Sunday) is a bigger force than any player on the Flamers short of Iginlame and Kiprusoft. See avatar.

Yes, I see your point. Let Markov do it. Anyway, I'm sure Dom doesn't really care who is in front of him. Never has bothered him before. He is typically very good at stopping screened shots. Deflected shots and rebounds are his problem.

Surgery is probably going to happen. If Bert taught players anything, it's that a little problem can become a HUGE problem quickly and sideline you for a long time. Very nice avatar Matt.
