Lang sucks on shootouts, he's pretty much the same as Sammy. I don't know about Calder. Hudler is automatic in my book. I would have him shoot after Dats in that situation. But over Sammy and Lang I also have Homer, Lebda, and even Maltby since they at least will try a move and not just shoot at the smallest spot they can find.

You can like other players than the ones on the Wings and still be a Wings fan. Last year when the Wings were eliminated, I rooted for the Grease until the Finals and then I rooted for the Canes. I just wanted the team that beat the Wings to go as far as they could and then not win the Cup. It makes sense in my mind because I can then say, "Well the Wings would have crushed the Canes...again." If the Wings were meant to lose to the Jackets, I'm happy that the player that killed the Wings is Sergei.

Not to mention that we are still not 100% healthy and Dom let in a weak goal. Add in those factors into a PLAYOFF series and I think Dom doesn't take that dive and V's defense has more problems because they have to shut down 2 scoring lines. EDIT: Dom let in the soft goal vs. Calgary. But the logic is the same, he won't take stupid risks like that in the playoffs against any team.

I was thinking and I would love to see Lidstrom just lay someone out at center with a shoulder check like Vladdy did to that Flyer during game 3 of the finals. Seeing as how it will probably never happen, I was wondering what other COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE things you would love to see a Wing do. Other than fly and score 10 goals in a game and stuff like that. PS- Do NOT mention anything that remotely resembles Bertuzzi getting back at Fruitoo. The purpose of this thread is to post things that are close to impossible happening, not something that probably won't happen. Does anyone really see Lidstrom flattening some guy at center? No. Can anyone visualize Bert smashing Fruitoo? Easier to do.

Cause Fruitoo was unhurt. Since he then slashed Modano back there would have been offsetting minors and since Frutioo already had 4, the refs gave him and Modano a break and didn't add to the circus they just saw. Plus, retaliation to intent to injure rarely gets a penalty. See all of the blatant calls over the years (McSorley, Dino, Bertuzzi, Clark) and you see the players that jumped the offenders do not get penalties, usually only one does. And that was Robidas.

I think so, I don't know the best defensive forward list but Fedorov is up there I think. Anyone who can playd O and D in a 5 on 5 situation and not be a liability in either is good in my mind.

Great news. I hope he does make it back with Z for the playoffs. Always good to have options in case Sammy or Cleary reinjure themselves.
