What would happen to Weber tonight if it were about 25 years ago? -

Are people seriously asking Bert to fight a younger, stronger, and bigger player than himself (risking injury to himself) to avenge a player who was not even injured? No, no, no. That makes no sense. Bert is too valuable to be doing that... ... have Ericsson or Cleary do it. -

He will be suspended. When announcers on a national level immediately wonder if someone will be suspended it has a good chance of happening. Considering it's the playoffs and an end of the game moment adds to the probability. I say 1-2 games. -

This is why no fan in the league (save VAN fans) should root for the Canucks should they reach the Finals. Following the city-wide celebratory bonfire, their fan base would be so full of themselves, and paranoid of the impending season ruining their team's legacy, that they would call for a halt to the NHL because their team's winning of the Cup perfected hockey and all other games that followed would darken its holy image. And when the next season started, they would burn their recently rebuilt city down in protest.

I hate to say it. Crosby is the best player in the NHL. Taking away that the Pens had won 9 games in a row before he came back, the last 2 games he has looked very sharp and made the Pens much better. 4 points in 2 games back after missing all that time is a feat in itself. I honestly can't say that any current Wing could have that kind of output after missing that amount of time, even Datsyuk (the goal last night was heartening, but he can't do it by himself). I kinda envy the Pens fans right now. They are in a position that seriously makes them SC contenders when their season was in jeopardy a few months ago. And we are down because we might not get home ice advantage in the play-offs that we expect to be in year after year.

No jumping. No charging. North-South movement. Guy had his head down and when you put your head down it becomes shoulder height to someone else. Clean on all counts.

Important if you are great at home and suck on the road.

Justin Abdelkader: A fighter's courage, but no fighter's skill
Wings_Dynasty replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
The Red Wings have enough offensive ability in their top 3 lines to dress a fighter every night. Everyone keeps saying (Babs included) that a fighter is useless since all they do is eat up minutes and take penalties. Yeah, they do that. They also (if they can hit, which most of the time they can) keep the other team's stars and ass-clowns looking over their shoulder and hopefully distracts them from what they do best (score goals and run around being ass-clowns). This team can support a legit enforcer (i.e. Parros, McGrattan, Kocur, etc) that is expected to keep the peace and lay on the occasional big hit, and possibly find a niche in the Red Wing' style of play as a net front presence (replacing Homer eventually). A power-forward that is a good fighter and scorer (i.e. Lucic) is rare and can't really be pursued since they are high value to their current team. Which is why a 3rd line player on a non-playoff team (Moen) commands a high price or isn't on the block at all. -
I don't expect much from him. I've heard this kind of hype before and most of the time it doesn't pan out (Grigorenko comes to mind). I think he will be nervous and will be pushed around by the NHL forwards he plays against. He may tear it up in GR, but he is playing the cream of the crop of scrubs there. This is the NHL and if anyone thinks he is going to outplay Ericsson (who I really wanted to be replaced with Commodore when I heard he was signed, but alas...) they may be in for a disappointment. But, hopefully I'm wrong and he goes out and does a Scott Stevens impression every night.

Unless Eaves has made unpublished and substantial improvement, i don't understand not picking up a forward. We have some scoring issues with Pavel out and I think a gritty forward would have helped. Winnik or Gaustad would have been good.

TRADE HIM FOR NASH, QUICK!!!

Sports Illustrated Dats at #1. Cue the moaning about being too soft in 3... 2... 1...

Commodore. And, since Ericsson doesn't want to fight/stick up for teammates, maybe he will.

I want Chris Neil on the Wings right NOW.

Avalanche GM looking pretty smart right now.
