I would put Drake in there as well. Maybe ahead of Thomas. -
Bleacher Report 50 Best Announcers/Personalities in Hockey History

BIG DRIVE!!! Seriously, best of all time? Mike Myers from "Mystery, Alaska" should rank higher than him. And why is Cherry so low on the list? His wardrobe alone puts him in the top 10. Gary Thorne and Bill Clement are the guys that are in my head when I fantasize about winning the Cup in OT and they should be higher than Darren Pang. I miss Strader. He was/is better than Daniels. -
You say that like Ville Leino has done anything except sign a contract too big for his britches.
-
I have no problem with him talking trash as long as he backs it up. I wouldn't mind a player like him on the Wings that has a big mouth and invites other players to chase him all over the ice instead of the guys with the puck.

1) Fedorov 2) Hull/Hasek (summer of 2001 was a wet dream), and Shanny 3) Ovechkin 4) Fedorov, McCarty, Hossa 5) Joseph

Why would they use the maple leaf? I get that they are a Canadian team and that they will never win a Cup, but why do they need to further associate themselves with Toronto.

5 of course, 13 is on his way, 40 still has some 'splaining to do.

Can't give him an A or an F in any way. I give him a C+. There is a lot of time left to make deals and I think we will be big spenders at the deadline if we go into this season with 6 mil to spend. This may be one of those seasons where we make a big splash in February and get exactly who is needed and are instantly the #1 choice for the Cup. Having said that, I do NOT think that our offense is well stocked. We are still too top heavy a team and our top two lines are definitely going to have to handle a substantial amount of the offense, which makes the opposition's job easier with shutting down the team's scoring. Defense was well addressed, but the overpayment of Ericsson is the only glaring error that I believe Holland committed. Even with the Wiz comments, if we had let E go after the theoretical amount of money he could have gotten, we would have easily had enough to sign a second tier defenseman like Wiz for the amount he believes he is worth, rather than sign E for the amount I think we all know he is not worth. Conklin was a great, cheap pick-up and I remember feeling confident when he was in net in the Wings jersey.

I see Commodore on the second pairing midway through the season with Stuart. Lidstrom-Kronwall Stuart-Commodore Ericsson-Kindl/other I know some will say that E is the number 4 dman right now and I believe he will most likely start the season that way, but I think that Commodore will eventually show himself to be more dependable and force E to take the job from him.

Best offensive: Ovi Best overall: Pavel

That works. All we need to do is slap one of the greatest Red Wings and defensemen of all-time in the face and guarantee he won't sign again next season. Kidding aside, no one on the second and third pairings are guaranteed a fixed spot, but this Smith kid hasn't proved himself to be a regular NHLer, let alone Lidstrom's partner on the TOP pairing.
-

Babs did have Stuart with Lids for a while last season, true, and Kronwall and Commodore would be an interesting pair, but I still think the 2 best defensemen will be together. Stuart may be more required to shoot the puck this season.

Disagree. Rookie on the first pairing? When was the last time that happened on this team? If Smith plays over Kindl it will be on the third pair where rookies belong.

Wings re-sign Miller to 2-year, $1.65m contract

2 way? -
Maybe Holland will trade Ericsson. One can wish.
-
Key question not seen so far: Is there a no trade clause???
-
Why does he need to present the Cup? Make it like the Masters, have the captain of the previous winning team present it, then it's about the players and not the "league."
-
If Ozzie is healthy I wouldn't mind having him back. The organization seems confident in Howard and if he is the starter, Oz isn't a terrible backup for a low price. I don't think any goalies in our system or J-Mac are as good as Oz right now. Draper has run his course. He was a great 2 way forward (Selke) and a great face-off man in later years. But we have a great replacement (Helm) and a similar guy (Eaves) that will likely be re-signed.

What's the minimum we could pay to have him back? -
1 failed experiment down, 2 to go. I'm looking at you Nashville and Phoenix.

If the Wings win Game 4, and then SJ's plane crashes on the way to Game 5 and the Sharks were forced to use their AHL team, the Wings still wouldn't win this series. There is no desire to win right now and they proved it in OT last night. If you don't score on a PP in OT (or right after it) you don't win.

Liking the 3rd line. Lots of crashing and also goal scoring touch. Wings 4 (Dats, Cleary, Homer, Raf) Sharks 1 (who cares)
