I hate all the teams. Unfortunately, the only team left I could root for is the Nucks and they won't make it. So it's Chicago, Boston, SJ, Philly, Montreal, and Pitt. Well Pitt is right out. So is Chicago. Montreal is French-Canadian and they already think that their team is the best of all-time even though they struggle to make the playoffs (when they do). SJ made it there with the help of the refs. And Boston has some of the worst fans in the world (in every sport). And Philly does have the worst fans and I DO NOT want Carcillo's name on the Cup. I hate to say it, but San Jose is my best option. Plus, you can say "well, the Stanley Cup winner beat the Wings so I guess the Wings were the second best team."

No predictions. Just win.

No matter what happens in the playoffs, I see Detroit making some changes. I wanted to see what people thought would be actual, possible signings they might pursue and also see what you would try to do if you were Ken Holland. Try to be realistic with what you would do. I know that it's possible to trade Datsyuk and Lidstrom for Crosby in NHL10, but it just won't happen in real life. Possible: I can see the Wings pursuing depth guys from high cap teams that didn't make the grade this season. I know with the Lightning's new leadership that they might make some changes and usually the Wings try not to send their players to the West. I could see someone like Ohlund or Meszaros coming in to play on the 3rd pairing with Lilja (if he's here) and switching off with Kindl if he's not doing to well. I would like to see Malone come over here to play on the second line. Wish List: Guys like Lucic or Byfuglien would look real good on the third line. I would also like to see an enforcer with talent, a Gratton or Neil type guy, someone who can hit/score odd goals as well as punch people in the face well.

Here's my thinking. Lose 3 games. No Ritola. Win game with Ritola in. Play with Ritola in. When certain guys are in the team plays different. You get different looks and you play a different game because it affects who you get passes from and who you pass to. You play a different game when Datsyuk is your center as opposed to Draper or Helm. With Ritola there is more play along the boards on his line, with him doing it there is another player open waiting for a pass or covering a man who would otherwise be the guy playing along the boards with Williams just standing around waiting for the puck.

Eh... Could have been better if it concentrated more on the refs missing the call, or now that since blood has been spilled Franzen cannot stop breaking records until the wound is healed.

Come on, come on... TAKE THE BAIT!!! LET'S GET DRUNK!!!

His defense on the OT goal was one of the worst displays I have ever seen in the playoffs. Ericsson would have done a better job. He at least knows that "Hey, I'm 6'5", I bet if I lay down on the ice or at least put my stick down I would be in the way of a potential pass." Waving your glove at it?

I don't mind the avatar. If I was on a SJ board with a 3-0 lead I could see myself doing something similar. The signature on the other hand. I don't get it. Isn't he the guy that scored on his own goal in OT in the playoffs? Pretty much the worst thing you can do other than baby murder.

I was trying to establish a difference between realistic and impossible. I can see Lucic and Byfuglien coming here because they are not franchise players. Would Boston or Chicago move them, most likely not or at least not for anything the Wings would give up. I was talking more about players like Chara, Kane, Malkin, Kiprusoff, etc. Franchise players have been moved before, the Boston-San Jose trade comes to mind, and Phaneuf was a big name that moved, even Kovalchuck. But those kind of moves don't happen often. I was trying to avoid the Hudler, Williams, and a pick for Lecavalier posts.

I seriously doubt this will happen as it hasn't happened yet. If Babs allowed it to happen (as in Oz doesn't come in after goal #3) then we would need to send him the way of Ol' Yeller.

Detroit-Pittsburgh. Complete the trilogy.

This is what I thought of when I read the title:

There's another one in there too, the one that made the awesome outlet pass off the boards right to a waiting Joe T to start the 2 on 1.

Trying to be positive, I thought of this. Is it possible that the Wings could have swept the Sharks? They still can.

Now that the media is finally awake and paying attention to what the officials are both calling and missing, I predict a lot more "let them play" situations for the upcoming games. The Wings do have a chance to win this series. If the refs give calls both ways (meaning that PPs end up about even at the end of the game), as well as let them play the game (don't call every damn thing) then both teams will play to their potential and the Wings will win. In the end, the refs are causing the Wings to play a different game than the Sharks. When you are getting all the PPs you can be more aggressive, and the opposite happens when you constantly going to the box. The Wings are playing a more physical game this year (see PHX series) and for some reason they are getting called for it more against SJ than they were against PHX. I know that each round gets more and more press, and the refs are probably feeling the pressure to not f*ck up the games, so they are probably going more by the book. But the game isn't confined to the book. If it was, every after-whistle scrum would have roughing penalties attached to it. Just let them play and catch the big stuff and stuff with blood involved. Wings in 6.

No predictions. Just win a ******* home game like you're supposed to do.
-
No. There really is no point for me to watch other teams unless there is going to be a brawl or the Pens are down 3-0 in a series and I can watch the last 5 minutes of their asses getting swept.
-
Maybe Williams should watch this and figure out a place for himself on the Wings.

"HOLDING?!" "Wow, really?" Exactly what I thought when I saw it. Except the second thing was like when you see something that shouldn't exist in our universe (like a Mariah Carey movie) and you say "WOW, really?!

South Park. If it is lopsided for the Wings, my brain will probably say "Well, we're even now" but my heart will say "We need KHL refs."
