1. Datsyuk 2. Franzen 3. Bertuzzi Datsyuk is only allowed to deke and Bert must do the spin-o-rama every time. That is all.

What do you think will happen? Will Babcock be replaced? I mean, 19 years of making the post season and with the same core team that made the SCF two years in a row and then you don't make the playoffs? There are a few coaching "decisions" I have seen that I do not agree with, one of them being Lebda playing games. But I don't think that will ever happen with this organization as long as the Wings are winning... oh, wait... Or could not making the playoffs finally mean a REAL rebuilding year? Dropping some big contracts and focusing on developing our potential stars in GR. Tatar, Kindl, etc. They need to be in the NHL sometime and a failure of a season gives a great excuse to go a different direction. Some players that may be left on the side of the road are the UFAs this summer and the players that have passed their prime (Draper, Maltby, Rafalski, Lidstrom, Holmstrom). After seeing the game tonight, I see that we do not have a goalie tandem that will bring us a Cup. Osgood has been reliable in the post season but shaky during the regular season, and the showing by Howard tonight shows that he isn't 100% ready to be a starter. Too many bad decisions, rough puck handling, and TOO MANY REBOUNDS! Are his pads too new? Is that why the puck seems to bounce out of his reash EVERY time it hits him? Anyway, most likely thing to happen if the Wings don't make the playoffs is what usually happens after an early exit. The status quo. Try to keep as many players as possible and attempt to fill the gaps of the players who leave. No huge signings, no big trades. I don't think that a Hossa-like signing is in this team's future as long as this team has Datsyuk, Zetterberg,, Franzen, and Kronwall on the team.

Yeah, Howard.

The fans can figure it out ... (realignment)

This schedule and realignment makes sense. Therefore, it will never happen. -
I've never seen the fight you speak of, but I approve it. EDIT: Now I want Staubitz on the Wings.

NTCs do get in the way... Rafalski.

Anybody need a goalie that can't control rebounds?
-
One of the most consistent playoffs scorers of the 90s. I would take him.

We'll need to trim a little more to fit Kovalchuk in.

I voted for Broduer only because Howard isn't on there

Key names not on that list. I'll give you a hint: 13 and 55.

Think about it. Not fast, not big, doesn't hit often, doesn't score, and doesn't have a big shot. What exactly does he do that a player making half his salary can't do?
-
Gold - Russia Silver - Canada Bronze - Sweden over USA

Nope, not ashamed at all. I was pissed the day I heard that his salary was $6 million dollars and I am still pissed. He does nothing for this team except pass on while on the PP and get assists from a used to be dominant 1st squad PP unit. He has not suffered from injuries this season and has had the same role as ever before, partnered with Lidstrom and 1st line PP unit. While I expect the forwards' on the PP unit points to drop off, I DO NOT expect ALL of the defense stats to fall off. Lidstrom is expected to be on the 1st line PP, 1st line PK, and the shut down pairing (along with Rafalski), all Rafalski is supposed to do is play with Lidstrom, make good passes on the PP while staying out of Lidstrom's way, and occasionally pinch in while in the offensive zone. Now, a player making 3 million can do all of that. And be a faster skater, throw hits, and have a slapshot. AND, most importantly, not be a defensive liability when they don't have the puck. He is constantly getting caught out of position while in the offensive zone and losing the puck at the opposing blueline and giving up odd man rushes. And all of this with a no-trade clause. Excellent..

Williams seems to score more when he goes wide. Going straight at Fleury who is above average in size and good positionally wasn't the right move. A wide move with a deke at the end (spin-o-rama, Forsberg, etc) would have had a better shot.

As much as this would make sense the NHL will probably never switch to a 3 point system. I would like to see a W-L-XT (XT meaing a point gained in Extra Time via the SO or OTL) where a win in reg. or OT is 2 points, a loss in reg. or SO is 0 points, and a win in a shootout or a loss in OT is 1 point. That would make teams want to win in reg. and OT and avoid the SO. So, it would go: W in Regulation: 2 points L in Regulation: 0 points W in OT: 2 points L in OT: 1 point W in shoot-out: 1 point L in SO: 0 points

FWIW, my NHL 10 lines. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen Bertuzzi-Flip-Cleary Homer-Helm-Leino Eaves-Draper-Williams May-Maltby Lidstrom-Kronwall Ericsson-Stuart Lilja-Rafalski Lebda Howard Osgood Now hopefully Lebda and Leino won't be here to complicate things and Lilja can make it back and in good form.
-
Lebda, Leino, Meech, May. Maltby- invaluable in the playoffs, and he always brings it Miller- scores more than the 3 on the block Oh, and IF Lilja does come back then we really don't need those less-than-marginal D-men keeping other prospects from coming up.

DELETE THAT F#CKING RECAP VIDEO!!! Other than that. Wings 3 (Lids, Z, Cleary) Pens 2 (who the hell cares, just not Crosby, Malkin, Orpik, Kennedy, or Talbot)

Every goal Crosby gets is easy. He has Bettman running around under the ice with a puck-magnet.
