I think it's possible to sign Kovalchuck this off-season

Wow, you find a way to sign Ilya Kovalchuk to the Detroit Red Wings and you have DAN CLEARY on the 1st line. -

Good job holding him there Crosby and waiting for the authorities to arrive. Very captain-like of you to not stand up for your teammates.

There is a video of a Versus commerical I think that talks about the McCarty goal in order to promote the playoffs. I can't find it on YouTube. I would think that someone on here has it in their favorites.

No what I'm saying is orange.

Once in 98 during the Finals at the Ren Cen. Saw, no touch. Then summer 08 at the HHOF. Touch.

Patrice Cormier with shocking hit on Mikael Tam

Ban him forever. Throw him in jail for a couple years. Take all his money. -
Dogs are much more loyal than cats. Would a cat jump in the pool if you were drowning? And that's why Maltby plays.

1. Datsyuk 2. Bertuzzi 3. Zetterberg 4. Filpulla Then play around all you want until Franzen gets back and gets in a rhythm. Then he needs to be near the top as well. This Cleary with the game on the line sh!t needs to stop PRONTO! Hell, put Lidstrom in before Cleary. He's actually pretty good when he gets a breakaway. Also, they need to make breakaways part of the practice routine. Too many missed opportunities during games and they are amplified in the SO. And a goalie can never have enough practice stopping them.

Versteeg should have won so a split decision for Eaves.

True. But most teams don't have Toews, Kane, and Hossa as their first 3 shooters.

Babcock's fault. Should have sent Flip instead of Cleary. -
I think of a power forward a someone with size, drives the net, soft hands, and an ability to score. Fighting is a bonus. Now an enforcer is someone who smashes in Ott's face for running all over the ice. An enforcer we do not have. We had one, and we let him go.

The NHL can't use technology for good reasons. Tell them you want the puck to glow. They can do stupid s*** like that.

I say they give each team 2 points. It's the only fair thing to do. They can do that right? No? It's not in the rulebook??? Call Toronto, have them add it in. -
Rafalski, Leino, Abdelkader, 2 picks.

Uhhh, I don't know if I would go that far... He's good in a clench and I think he might get a few shots in. It would depend on who he was fighting. As for OV, I think he would hold his own in a fight. Would it be an ass-kicking? Probably not. But I think he could at least wrestle most non-enforcers to the ice and wrap them up pretty good. Most hockey players not known for fighting can at least do that, and OV is not the normal superstar as he also has a physical side.

Fedorov vs. Coffey in the All-Star game fastest skater final. Was a Red Wings fan after that.

As I only followed the Wings since about 94 (when I was in 4th grade) I have limited exposure to anyone fighting prior to that era. So, my list as follows: 1. Probert 2. Kocur 3. McCarty 4. Shanahan 5. Stu Grimson 6. Aaron Downey / Keith Primeau 7. Dallas Drake / Lapointe 8. Jiri Fischer / Brad May 9. Danny Markov 10. Andreas Lilja Quick edit for explanation: I rated by winning percentage, skill, enforcer ability (preventing running of skill players), fighting at the right moment, and overall skill at other aspects of the game (skating, hitting, goal scoring). For example, Grimson is higher than more skillful players because I think that he was a great fighter and that's about it, while the other players below him are fair fighters but overall better players. EDIT2: Jeez, how could I forget Lapointe?!
-
I will give this thread attention when Lilja is on the list.

I would have given it to Raflaski, just because he played with Cheli.
