Who gets the 12th starting forward spot?
Wings_Dynasty replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Kopecky may not be ready for the season opener. His expected injury time was 6 months. He was dressed and on the ice in skates for the Cup raising but he may not be up for full speed skaking, shooting, and being hit until the end of October. -
Kaberle. Grant Fuhr vs. John Vanbiesbrook.
-
Fedorov. Dominik Hasek 98 or Patrick Roy 93
-
Shanny I got in before you in the last round so here is mine again Roenick or Lindros.
-
Hossa. Jeremy Roenick or Eric Lindros
-
Rocket. Holmstrom or Cicarelli.
-
Neely. Domi or Avery.
-
Kane. Selanne 98 or Kariya 98.
-
Lemieux. Datsyuk or Iginla.
-
Hossa. Pronger vs. Chara
-
I say you break even. 68 games is a LOT. But the Jackets are not a PO team yet.

Ouch! That hurts the franchise. HELLO K.C.!!!
-
Every team we play is an East team. That is pretty odd and cool.

Who Wears the "C" after Lidstrom
Wings_Dynasty replied to LIDSTROM-YZERMAN4PRESIDENT's topic in General
My ideal scenario: C- Dats A- Zetterberg A- Franzen and Kronner alternating -
I guess no one got the reference. SNL skit with the British Parliament arguing back and forth and Will Ferrell insisting on a vote to decide that Oasis is the greatest band in the world. I meant to derail the threads back-and-forthness with a comedic cultural reference, but I guessed I reached too far.

Can we all agree that Oasis is the greatest band in the world? Can we not vote on this??? (who gets this reference?)

Orr was a forward who could play defense. Essentially he was the 70s Fedorov. Put Fedorov on D in the 70s and he would have smashed teams by himself too. The fact is as much as Orr could dominate a team, Lidstrom can shut down a team by himself. By playing him in key situations against the opposition's best players it severely limits their play-making ability, which is the definition of defense. So, the 2 best defenseman of all time are offensive-defenseman Bobby Orr and defensive-defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom.

Sour grapes much??? I guess he should go back to whacking off over the old days of Gretzky, Messier, and Kurri and leave the present to the Wings and the players who want to go where they can win. I think Pitt fans will boo Hossa, they are in the mid-range of classiness. But we are not far above them, as we boo players for leaving. But we don't boo Bertuzzi or Schneider (for leaving) since we know that they were here for a reason and it wasn't to stay long-term. No, we boo great players that were key to our successes. We are still near the top of the classy pole though, seeing as we do not boo Santa Claus or heckle our players when they are losing... anymore.

Why does he think that the Oilers are "back on the map?" What have the Oilers done since July 1? As for the "who wants to live in Detroit?" question... people who want to be winners want to live here. Who wants to live in Edmonton is the better question.

No, not really. I think it is mostly Babs usage of him that pisses me off rather than his play. I just thinnk he should not be on the point on the PP, right handed shot or not.

Joking aside, Draper. I like the balance of nationalities on defense, which Cherry never mentions when talking about the Wings. Nick, Kronner, and Lilja are Swedes, Lebda, Rafalski, and Chelios are Americans, and Stuart is Canadian. What's there to ***** about. That my friends is symbiosis.

Ericsson is our #1 skater prospect. Howard is obviously the overall #1 prospect, but our 6'5", physical, cannon of a shot, defenseman will be going nowhere.

From the Khan article on July 1: "And the Wings don't have anywhere close to the cap space to bring in Marian Hossa."
