These are the lines I expect to see. Except that someone in the office (Holland, Babs, Jim D, or Nill) said that Drake would be a mentor to Kopecky. I would think that he would be on the same line it that were true. But to be on the same line would mean that he would be playing and Grigs, Huds, or Flip would be sitting. And since Grigs can't sit and Flip is too good to sit... we all know what that may mean. And just for gits and shiggles, here are my 2k7 lines. Hudler-Dats-Homer Flip-Z-Sammy Grigs-Draper-Cleary Franzen-Drake-Maltby Lids-Cheli Rafalski-Kronwall Lilja-Quincey

The Kentucky Fur Coats is not a bad roster. I think they would give a lot of teams a run for their money. But since it is a combo of 2 teams, the Wings will win the Central by at least 10 points.

Not a big deal to me. As long as there is a letter instead of a different color helmet or an armband or something like that.

Wow, if all that is true (especially about the fight numbers) I'm not that disappointed that he didn't sign here. We have it good compared to other teams in that we can rely on our GR prospects. But, I would still like to see Markov back.

Hence the end of my post that you left out. Since it won't happen, my opinion is moot. Wish more people around here would realize that as well on other issues that will never happen.

If Steve goes to Toronto to be a GM, I say we take the number down. And I'm serious. Don't go giving me the "oh but he lead us to victory and he's an icon" speech either. He leaves the boat after all this time, then it doesn't mean anything to him or me. But, he won't leave. So this post is pointless.

There should never be a team in Hamilton. It is a small town, period. Small towns shouldn't have teams in a professional league. Winnepeg and Quebec are better options, the former more so. Put a team in Winnepeg and another in a Western state (Washington, Nevada, or Wisconsin) and then move the Wings to the East. I can dream.

I'm sorry everyone. My "Forsberg vs. Fedorov" thread has apparently shaken people. I accept the blame.

From Mlive: At the deadline the Wings might make a move to pick up one of these guys. If Forsberg is back to playing and looking good he would be an option. If Columbus falls out of play-off contention before the deadline they will probably look to move Sergei's salary. Who would you rather have?

He is a bit of a mystery. But many people here think he is what we are missing. A physical player who fights. I will say this, if he can be had for under $2.5 mil, sign him; but any more... I did like him the first time around. I liked that he was a douchebag the same way I like that Maltby is a douchebag and Chelios is a douchebag and Hasek is a douchebag. Other teams HATE douchebags and pay more attention to them when they should be worried about Datsyuk and Zetterberg flying up the middle of the ice.

Flip will not be centering the 2nd line, either Z or Dats will do that. Here are our lines right now as I see it. * Homer-Dats-Flip * Hudler-Z-Sammy Drake-Draper-Franzen Grigorenko-Cleary-Maltby with Kopecky #1 in reserve. Grigorenko will play on the 4th line unless he is more advanced than we think he is. Drake will play on the "grind" line and Draper will center it as always. Sammy will be on one of the top 2 lines. And that is where I would rather see Sergei. The only thing that confuses me is that someone in the organization (Babs, Holland, Jimmy?) said that Drake was to be a mentor to Kopecky, who right now does not make the roster unless Grigorenko plays his way back to Russia or Hudler or Flip is sent down to GR. Dats would have been with Sergei to learn the language and probably would have roomed with him. Plus, Sergei is a sniper. It probably would have been Feds-Dats-Z once Hull left and Yzerman and Shanny left. It used to be Yze-Feds-Shanny and Hull-Dats-Z. As for Smyth, eh... we have Homer. I would LOVE to see Feds on D on the PP and the PK. Plus, he had a lot more vision of the ice when he played back there. He was the best end-to-end rush player the Wings ever had, the only one who comes close to him is Lebda and that is sad. Fedorov @ the trade deadline is my dream. Re-sign him next season for around $2-2.5 mil and let him retire a Wing.

Those are my hopes, Sammy off the point. Fedorov was a BEAST when he was on the point on a PP. He has a good shot (was great, still good) and he is a great passer. Both of these things are upgrades over Sammy. Think about it: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Homer Rafalski-Lidstrom then... Hudler-Flip-Franzen/Sammy Fedorov-Kronwall/Lebda
