No, they don't. Until the Wings are winning, they are old, tired, finished, weak, small, and overrated. The Ducks are clearly the better team and they had a bad game last night caused by poor officiating. Now, they have to deal with the loss of the classiest guy in the NHL (ranking up there with Iginla and J. Thornton). Wow, my sarcasm is overwhelming even myself. I just vomited typing that.

Well, I've seen him enough times in the play-offs to know he is a dirty player. If he complains that this wasn't one of his dirty plays, then not only is he a ******, he's an ignorant ******. Deep holes can always get deeper.

No, they cheered the initial hit, which is understandable. Then they booed when he stayed down on the ice and play was halted. That is low-class. And by the way, the only way I cheer an injury is if it is deserved. Say, later in the game, Bert crumples Wronger when he doesn't have the puck, I lose my voice screaming for blood.

This thread should be close now, seeing as Calder is out and Peck is in.

We can't say that it's a dumb move or a smart move until we see Peck play, however, if they feel that he can play in the WCF after that long of an absence, I am cautiously optimistic that he can contribute. From what I remember, he plays gritty and pisses people off, something that the Wings will need in a pro-Duck environment affecting the referee's decision making.

No one on the Wings had a number in the 90s other than Fedorov, also, it was taboo to have such high numbers back then. So he probably took 15 when he made the team. 15 was probably taken in TC anyway.

The Sharks are doing what they wanted.... until Homer got back. They were containing the top line and taking all of Detroit's physicality in stride. And all the way up to Game 4, they were the favorites to win. And, honestly, I wasn't 100% postive that the Wings could overcome their size. However, over the last 2 games, the Sharks have not only failed at stopping the D-Z-H line, but they have allowed other players (Sammy, Lang, and Bert) find their respective grooves. And this is the last thing that the Sharks want. One hot line killed the Sharks today, another will bury them for sure in the next game. During the scrum today at the end of the 2nd period, I realized that the Sharks have lost the "we are bigger and stronger" than the Wings mentality. There was a shift in momentum that I rarely see in Wings hockey against equal opponents. Lilja dropping their "grinding" guys, Bert plowing through their defense toward the net (yes, he hasn't scored, but the power is there), and Lang and Sammy scoring and raising their confidence. The Sharks are playing a gear below the Wings with their foot on the brake. But by far, Homer is killing the Sharks more than anything else. They have no solution to his style of play, which is "stand near the crease and wait." On his goal today, there was ZERO attention paid to him except from Nabby. I hate to say it, but a LARGE piece of the puzzle was missing the first 3 games, a piece that I believed was smaller than it actually is. Yes, the series isn't over yet and there is still Game 6 to be played, but the Wings have put themselves firmly in the driver's seat and it will take more than Joe Thornton and Nabby to move them.

If you could choose one Red WIng to take over Game 5, who would it be? You can't choose Dom, that's too easy of an answer. I choose Bert. A hot Bertuzzi = a dead Sharks team. If he skates, hits, shoots, and does everything else to his potential he wll be the most dangerous player on the ice and is pretty much unstoppable (as we have seen in the past.)
