They have a reason to be confident now. They brought their 'B' game and dominated the Wings. My "Wings in 6" prediction doesn't seem so wise now.
-
No, you got it. Apparently, it doesn't matter how many goals you let in as long as you have at least one more. Just the nature of the game. I expect a better team on Saturday, but after tonight I don't think defense is our problem.

Except for the 2 goals. Especially that first one, you know, the game winner.

Pre-GAME 1 (4/26): Sharks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

What were the Sharks v. Flames stats again? Oh, that was the regular season, right Sharks fans? It doesn't matter. So, by that logic, the Sharks going 3-1 against the Wings doesn't matter. And futhermore, the Sharks have yet to play the Wings with Calder and Bertuzzi in the lineup, as well as a fully assembled and working PAIN TRAIN!!! -
Yes, it's a game. The octopus is already dead and was going to be eaten anyway. And it makes children smile. Adults with "cruelty" issues on the other hand... Why don't you take up a chess team to root for and leave the sport of hockey to the other drunk, overweight cavemen rooting for blood and raw seafood on ice. P.S. Most people are there to see a hockey game, beer and fun are side affects.

Did someone say he wasn't? I thought he was good to go.

You have to ask yourself. a. Do you know the story of the Detroit Red Wings octopus toss? b. Who does it hurt?
-
Your theory is pretty good. Except the Wings MUST be winning or tied when the aquatic beasty is tossed. So, best bet is right before the game (After the anthem), or during the first TV timeout. However, if the Wings are winning after 59 minutes, that is the BEST time.

I agree. The only adversity they faced so far has been in the media. And when Calgary pulled even, the closest thing to actual adversity so far, they stomped on them. If the Sharks do bring their 'A' game, then they better expect a much better Wings team than the one that played Calgary and a SUPER HUGE better team than they played in January. -

a. Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. God created the Sharks in his own image and I am basically breaking a commandment in thinking that the Sharks are NOT the best team in the NHL. b. Yeah, when I think timely scoring, I think of those guys. c. Ok, whatever you say Jarome. d. Again, trying to equate that the Wings played their absolute best and cannot improve. You are dreaming if you think the Wings were firing on all cylinders against the Flames. Just remember, the Preds are NOT the Wings; and one series victory over a Central division lackey with poor judgment does not equal a Cup for you. e. Nabokov is 4-10 all time against the Wings, And 0-1 this season. Hasek > Nabokov. Wings in 6!!! -

a. You are assuming the Wings have zero physicality and that they will just take and not give. b. or, you assume the Wings will give and the Sharks wil not feel it (HUGE mistake, ask the Flame fans and Dion Phaneuf) c. you assume the Wings have 1 or 2 scoring lines and the rest fill up bench space. Once again, ask the Flames. d. the best defenseman in the league is NOT Zdeno Chara, so size matters not. Stick work and positioning matters, ask our top D man (that would be 4 time Norris winner Nicklas Lidstrom) e. the Wings excel at relentless forechecking, ask any team other than yours, and especially ask the Calgary Flames, Dion Phaneuf (for reference, study the plays of Daniel Cleary and Kris Draper; for more reference see Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg) Edit: clarity. I had to name drop because he probably only knows the SJ roster. -
Everyone already knows what it really is.

You better hope the Sharks are less physical. The Flames focus on physicality cost them the series. Dumb penalties and pinching for big hits let the Wings skill players have the puck much more than they should have. -
Put it in a trash bag and slide it down the front of your pants.

No surprise there, you still think it's 2003.

Ozzie had his moments. No one goes along for the ride against a hot Yotes team with JR and Tkachuk in their primes, Pronger and MacInnis, then the #1 ranked Dallas with Belfour on fire, and then Kolzig who was arguably the best goalies from that entire season and playoffs.

My question is why is famous, drag-queen comedian Eddie Izzard walking right behind him?

Yeah, this is the same guy who said that us beating the Sharks in 95 was cheap because it was only their 4th year in the league. I had no choice but to point out the 1996 Finals. -
That's not an excuse. See SC Finals of 1996.
-
Here's my quick solution. Wales Patrick Anaheim Chicago Florida Dallas Edmonton Montreal Vancouver Minnesota Smythe Calgary Los Angeles Ottawa NY Rangers Buffalo Pittsburgh Philadelphia Campbell Norris Colorado Detroit Tampa Bay Toronto San Jose Washington Carolina St. Louis Adams Columbus Nashville Atlanta Boston New Jersey NY Islanders Phoenix Each division keeps old and new rivalries in tact and adds regional rivalries (Atlanta v Nashville, Pitts. v. Phila, etc). Also, 3 Original 6 teams in each conference.
