Many would have a heart attack if an enitre game in a series of 7 came down to who has the best breakaway players. How many players are his size? 10, maybe 15. Not too many, and they usually are 4th liners and 3 D-pairing guys. Bert is special, a 1st-2nd line big man who can hit and handle the puck. I don't know if there is anyone else in NHL history that had a 45+ goal season and is his size? He doesn't need to fight Fruitoo, just nullify him by putting him through the glass and scoring whenever he is on the ice. Although, I think he could handle himself against that cheap-shotting punk midget.

I think that our D is better equipped to deal with Iginlame this year (markov, Lebda, Lilja) and we change on the fly better than most teams because our forwards back-check pretty well. Iginlame shouldn't be a huge problem, but he will probably have more than 2 shots.

It's great for a PP. It shows all the players on the ice and the defensive/offensive schemes they are using. Typically, FSN will show from the standard view and will only show about 80% of the offensive zone and the camera will have to move if the puck goes behind the goal or to the point. I like the new angle, but ONLY on the PP.

My biggest concern is the home advantage in terms of Calgary's physical play. A player likes to rev his crowd up and a big hit is usually the best way to do it besides scoring. I expect a much tougher, physical team in Calgary. They will be throwing big hits and head-hunting because it's what the fans want, and they have no choice because what they've been doing isn't working. Plus, if Pavel, Hank, or Lids go down; the Wings go down.

Grade the Wings and Flames on their performance last night. Try not to be a homer and be fair. Here are the categories. Offense Defense PowerPlay Penalty Kill Passing Goaltending Checking OVERALL Here are mine RED WINGS Offense- A : Took it to the Flames, set up well, lots of puck movement Defense- A- : Did a good job, got a little lazy in the 3rd and cost Dom a shut-out PowerPlay- B+ : One goal is good, 2 would have been great. That 2 min 5on3 should have been easy. Penalty Kill- A- : Did a good job avoiding penalties in a physical game. Gave up a PP goal. Passing- A : Smooth, accurate. What I expect from them. Goaltending- B+ : Didn't give up a lot of chances, but Dom thrives with more action, so B+ cause I didn't get to see the A Dom play. Checking- A+ : Surprised me more than anything. GREAT JOB!!! MORE PLEASE!!! OVERALL - A- FLAMES Offense- C- : No Iginla, no win. Defense- C+ : Did a bad job containing the top line from getting scoring chances, but only allowed them one goal. A little harder defending 3 solid lines, eh? PowerPlay- B : You got a goal, but you are supposedly better than us. Penalty Kill- B+ - Good job, only one against and a great 5on3 kill. Bert tried to get someone who takes cheapshots to fight him, when he declined, Bert cheapshotted him. Lot different than going after a team's skill player and hitting him from behind (Z) and complaining about it all the way to the box. "He hit me too hard. I factor in the team's ability to draw/avoid penalties. The Wings get a higher grade on PK cause they had less penalties and the Flames bet a B+ cause they had more and were careless. If they would have went 15/15 on the PK they would have got an A-, cause they shouldn't get that many but killed them off. If the Wings went 1/40, they would get a C-, cause they drew so many but didn't score enough. Get my theory? OH MY GOD!!! THE GAME IS STILL GOING ON!!! I THOUGHT IT ENDED LAST NIGHT WITH THE WINGS WINNNING 4-1!!! WHAT CHANNEL!!! WHAT'S THE SCORE!!!

Kinda, grading the teams' play for GAME 1 is the point. Not for the entire series, not predicting a winner, not showing off a win, grading 2 teams' performance from one game. Grade the game or leave.

Name of the Game by The Crystal Method, nice choice. I gave you 5 stars. I give all positive Wings vids 5 stars, but you really earned them.

My choice would be Sammy. Babs will be Hudler. Flip had a great game, Cleary and Malts are too important on the PK and forecheck. Sammy has experience over Hulder. Plus, the only good thing I can say about Sammy is that he plays with an edge and that is what we need against the Flames, but if we see our lines start getting shut down, expect Hudler back quick.
