This is tough because every team has different standards and different criteria for choosing which numbers to retire. In general I believe the decision usually surpasses stats and playoff records and includes longevity as well as how much the player is loved by the front office, the city, and the fans. This is why I'd consider Linden a lock in Vancouver but Roy not so much of a lock in Montreal. It's also why I'd place Osgood well above Fedorov in the pecking order, although I wouldn't retire either number at this point.

From what I understand, it wasn't actually the oil cap missing, but the cover on the box that houses the oil tank that was missing...it's a tank within a box, and the box's cover was gone. It is said that without this cover airflow under the car changes, increasing downforce.

I like it. Better name than Storm, makes more sense for the area, and finally that childish hand-drawn Storm logo is permanently replaced. I think the colors will be okay, although I think there should be some green in there.

I agree with the article for the most part, except where it discusses NASCAR...I think although ESPN got a chunk of the NASCAR deal, it still treats it as second class, especially on shows like Around the Horn and PTI, where it receives the same contempt that hockey receives. On to the point of the article, I too am completely sick of the arrogance of ESPN and eagerly await the network's downfall. If it's not football, baseball, basketball, or (strangely enough) golf, it gets second class treatment on the network, at best. I'm so much more a fan of Fox Sports Final Score show than SportsCenter...it's fast-paced and highlight driven without the fluff pieces, it covers hockey on an equal level, plus it's sidebar rundown was completely ripped off by SportsCenter.

I don't think this year's Super Bowl even registers. It's definitely well behind Miracle, Super Bowl III, App St. over Michigan, Villanova over Georgetown, etc. The Giants were playing very, very well in their last 5 or 6 games (at least), while the Patriots weren't playing all that well in my opinion. The way they played in the AFC championship game, they should have lost to San Diego. Just because they were undefeated doesn't mean they were head and shoulders above the rest. Hell, I think the 1996 62-13-7 Wings getting bounced in the WCF was a bigger upset.
