He's gone from Toronto. 100%. The only issue is that some other team may shed some salary and out-bid the Wings. But my impression from the deadline was that there just wasn't enough time to work out a deal of this magnitude.

Why would Phanuef want to be part of this "pussified", soon-to-be-swept team? Seriously, these Wings aren't much better than the Leafs right now and will be worse when Babcock goes to Toronto. Besides, next year is the year that the Wings finally tank it.

especially to make it a 5-on-3 in the third period in a game that had massive playoff implications for one team. -
The problem is that, when they were prospects, we were looking at Smith (and Kindl) with the same wide-eyed reverence that we now place on these other prospects you mentioned. No one knows if any of these four players will be good enough to take Smith's job.
