This would be the deal of a lifetime...about comparable to the deal that St. Louis got when we GAVE them Adam Oates for a washed-up has-been that played 1 season for us before hanging up the skates.... Stastny has been incredible. The thing with him is that he is so smart on the ice. He has hockey sense that you just cannot teach... Leaving him off of the young-stars game at the all-star break seems to have really motivated him. Since then he has been one of the top producers in the league... That being said, I don't see him beating out Malkin....

If Stastny continues on his current pace, he's going to make the race really interesting. Right now, Malkin only has 7 more points, and Stastny is on fire...

I have a sister that lives in Traverse City, so I always have a place to stay there... Also have one in Alpena and another near Lewiston, as well as my Grandpa near Lewiston...and my mom lives in the U.P., so Northern Michigan is pretty much covered for me... BTW - as of right now, it looks like my Dad is going to drive my daughter back up, so I should be able to make the get-together, but that may change depending on how the week goes for him (he drives a semi for a living and if he has a rough week he won't want to drive up there on the weekend...)

I might make it...I'm not sure yet though. My daughter has been staying with my sister in Traverse City since my stay in the hospital at the end of last year. I'm picking her up this weekend and she is going to stay for a week (no school for them), I'm just not sure if I'm taking her back up or if my Dad is going to do it...if he takes her back up for me then I can probably make it, if not then I definately won't be able to...

As much as I loved the old Tiger Stadium, I really don't see any other option. It would be great if they could come up with a plan to use it for something, but it just isn't realistic. Hopefully they come up with a really good addition to the city to fill that space with. Something spectacular and worthy of standing on such a historic location...

Typically, I'm not much of a fan of the whole +/- statistic, but for Ovechkin to play the minutes that he plays and be a +1 on a team that has won 22 out of 63 games and that has been outscored 244 to 180 is pretty impressive. Only 4 other caps have a +/- of over zero, and 2 of those have played 12 games between them. Crosby may eventually become the better of the two, but for now I have to give the nod to Ovechkin (not really based on the +/- statistic referenced above, I just think that his game is more complete as of right now...then again he is the older of the two as well...).

If going with a veteran I'd say Draper, but I think it's going to be Zetts...

A Superbowl every 7 years is a heck of a trade-off...the other owners have been pressuring to get Thanksgiving games for years...eventually it will probably happen. If we can get a trade-off such as this, I say go for it... I would hate to see the Thanksgiving tradition end though... Then again, not having to watch the Lions on Thanksgiving will likely leave me with a much stronger appetite for Thanksgiving dinner...

I'd pass on Theodore, I've always thought that he wasn't anywhere near as good as the hype...I don't see him as much, if any of an upgrade from what we currently have...
