    Ticket presale

Does anyone have the password for the Wings' ticket presale which begins on Tuesday?

    Nashville is staying?

Moving to the East. Manifest Destiny was the idea in the 1800's of the westward expansion of the US. I've appropriated it for my hope of the Red WIngs moving east.

    Nashville is staying?

Very good news. Them staying in Nashville keeps the Red Wings' dream of manifest destiny alive.

    Nashville is staying?

Good news for the Wings if Nashville stays. It keeps our manifest destiny(moving east) alive, and anywhere they might've moved in the West would be meant a longer trip for us.

    Predators not being sold?

If they moved to Hamilton, they'd be in the East. Maybe they'd be in the West for a year or 2, but there will soon be 2 expansion teams in the West: Vegas and KC/Seattle/Portland/Houston. If everything stays as is, one Western team would need to move East. If Nashville remains in Nashville, we'll be first in line. If Nashville moved to Hamilton, that's that. There is nowhere that Nashville can move in the West that will benefit us. 8:30 starts and 500 mile trips are much better for us than Nashville moving to any of the above mentioned potential expansion cities.

    Predators not being sold?

This is good news for Wings fans. We need the Nashville franchise to stay in the West if we want to move east when they expand to Vegas and wherever else, and if we don't move east, we need as many teams in the eastern and central time zone as possible.

Ken Daniels may be considered for Hockey Night in Canada job

indeed. the radio simulcast on 97.1 has vastly improved my life. Ken Kal and Paul Woods are much better. Kal actually has enthusiasm for the game unlike Daniels who is only concerned with repeating his allegedly entertaining anecdotes and being a know it all. As much I like Redmond, the constant complaining about the officiating is getting quite old. Woods is very fair, and very honest. You won't find a better analyst. And if Daniels leaves, maybe Dave Strader could be lured back from Florida.

    Nashville Staying put!

Hopefully the city steps up and buys enough tickets to make up the difference and force them to stay. I really don't care whether they live or die, but them moving doesn't result in us moving east, and if they end up in Ontario, it could put our eastern dreams out of reach. Anywhere they move in the West will just result in more travel for us, so for our benefit, I hope they stay.

    Redwings song at the Joe

It was written and sung by a guy named Larry Santos. I've been looking for it for years. There was a guy here a while back who said he was going to get a copy from Art Regner, but I don't think he ever did.

    Redwings song at the Joe

Its called "Red Wings, My Red Wings". It was made in 1970's, then forgotten until Art Regner re-introduced it on his radio shows. Good luck finding it.

FSN Not covering any more games?!?!

I was under the impression that some local broadcast stations purchased the games from Versus last year, so everyone would have a chance to watch. Basically channel 2, 4 or 7 would pick up the versus feed. Perhaps that was just for the Finals though. In any event its a total embarrassment that a supposed major league sport's semi-finals are only available to 65% of its biggest ratings draw's home market.

Door Number 5 or Calgary in First Round of Playoffs

absolutely correct. people get way too caught up in who were going to play in the first round and psych themselves out before the playoffs even start. if we're going to win a championship, we're going to have to beat some good teams. so lets just show up where and when the league tells us to and go from there.

3/24 GDT: St. Louis Blues @ Red Wings, 2:00 PM ET

Gary Bettman made a statement a few months ago that the NHL's research has shown that fans would rather have their team lose in the shootout than tie. I keep my own standings. If a game is tied at the end of OT, its a tie. The result of the skills competition is not acknowledged.

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal

Yeah, he might also be responsible for the Wings doubling their season SHG totals.

Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal

Right. I've been waiting since a 6-5 win against San Jose in November 2006 for Williams to be thrown off the team. Williams quite possibly had the worst defensive game of all time that night. He does *nothing* well. He was the biggest detriment to our team. I don't care if Calder does anything for us, he has to be an improvement.
