    Quenneville Fined $10,000

That would help the Hawks more than hurt them. When you hear most coaches take shots at the officiating, they are very careful not to overstep their bounds "I don't agree with the call" "From our point of view it was not a penalty" "I don't make the calls but I thought it wasn't the right one", etc. This idiot just comes right out and blurts out "worst call in sports ever" lmao Just priceless he gets fined too. I can't wait to bounce this joker to the golf course - think he cheats on his strokes? lol Let's go Wings dispatch of this fool please.

    Blackhawks' Brian Campbell: "Gutless"

None of these things will happen with Quenneville as coach. What a classless idiot. Maybe not Q's decision, but letting Havlat back on the ice after being knocked out cold = no concern for this guy's long term health. Then the first mediocre hit (Stu let up) and he's gone again. Maybe Q can't control Campbell's mouth, but when you hear your coach spewing idiotic things every day (worst call in sports rotflmao) you follow their example. Discipline? I would respect the Hawks a lot more if that buffoon wasn't telling them to go rough things up on the ice. Look out for this moron in game 4.

    Quenneville/ "Worst call.."

I actually think many teams are going that way. We'll see with some of the vacancies this summer, Calgary etc. I personally don't know why anyone would hire Q unless you knew your team was going nowhere anyways.... but better for us to keep him in the West.

    Quenneville/ "Worst call.."

Actually I think he is bad, period. Doesn't say much about Calgary or Vancouver. I think back to 1999 when he coached the #1 seed Blues right into a upset by the #8 SJ Sharks in the first round. In 2001, he actually got to the WCF played an Avs team minus Forsberg, and just coming off a 7 game series. Not that he should have beaten the Avs but he mustered only one win in that series. I think the Hawks got to the WCF on their youth mojo and skill alone, and playing perennial underachieving Canadian teams - then the Q factor came into this series....

    Valtteri Filppula Appreciation Thread

Remember when Datsyuk started out, it was his job to merely pass to Hull, and it worked. Flip will start being a primary goal scorer in time. I for one enjoy his beautiful passes. He has been on of the Wings most consistent and best players this POs imo. Plus, for the ladies out there, he's nice to look at.

    Quenneville/ "Worst call.."

I've been watching Q for years. In St Louis, and here in Denver where I live. He is an OK coach for a young up and coming team, BUT he is brutal in games that really matter - regular season and POs. If you took two equal teams and placed Q and Babcock out there, I'd bet on Babs every time, and he's no Bowman either. He lost control of his team today. Lidstrom AND Datsyuk out, plus Draper. That's a gift he cannot overlook, yet he managed to outcoach himself. Hopefully the Hawks will dump his butt in a year or two (sooner rather than later) if they have any aspirations of going to the finals. But, as a Wings fan, please keep him as long as you'd like.

What's the Deal with Babcock and Chelios?

Where have you been for the past few days boy? There's not deal. Cheli is our #7 Dman and will play when needed. Not sure why when dressed he gets so few mins, but the guy is 47 yo. Kind of cool to see him suit up for a smoke out in Chitown though, esp after the whole JR thing. I know there is a lot of dislike for Eddie O on here, but even he spoke on NHL live Friday and said "If JR want to make a story out of the WCF he might try actually playing one one" lol

    Brian Campbell Appreciation Thread

A team worst -3 How's that for yapping your big mouth about dirty hits (pot calling the kettle black). And the Hawks are stuck with him for years - noone else will be stupid enough to trade for that contract.

Datsyuk a game-time decision, Draper out

    Kronwall Hit

Wiz-whatever got tossed in our series vs the Ducks, now Kronner gets tossed vs the Hawks. I'm going to call that even - no more game tossing calls! Why does everyone wish Havlat gets hurt? Great hit, but not funny to see a guy out cold on the ice. If that was Z or Pav, I would be very sad. That said, let's go Wings and just take back this series tomorrow...no mercy on Huet or whomever sits in net for them...

    Kronwall Hit

That was only called a penalty after the fact BECAUSE Havlat got hurt. Good hit by Kronwall - does need to watch the feet a bit. I'm not going to sit here and laugh at a guy that gets knocked out though - tough luck for him. No injuries wished upon the Hawks. s*** happens, hope he gets better and let's hope the Wings pick it up in Game 4 - I'm tired of looking at Quenneville already.

What Should Babcock Do With Hossa?

2 points is vast improvement over his last sev games, yes. I am very disappointed Hossa hasn't scored more clutch goals, because after all that is his job - he's a goal scorer. But on the other hand, he's not doing anything to hurt the Wings chances either. I'm not ready to give up on him just yet. "Benching" him or 4th lining him will pretty much be the end of Hossa for the season - not a good idea..... glad some of these posters aren't the coach.

    Huet or Khabibulin?

I'm a bit disappointed the Wings didn't take it to Huet there in the third. Only 6 saves this guy had to make. Missed opportunity. Will be interesting to see who is in net for game 4; either way the Wings can take it to this team if they put their mind to in, sans being in the box for the first half of the game. I expected this might be the game they would drop - now pedal to the medal boys, please!

    Pens v Wings

Welcome. Come back in a week though and we'll see where both teams are. Don't jinx it!

    Datsyuk is a gametime decision

ESPN and the ticket reported his is out also. Get well soon Pavel, come back full force on Sunday!

    ECF Game #2 GDT

Normally I might agree with you. I thought he was done due to his performance this regular season. However, he has been great in several PO games thus far. Esp in game 2 the Wings gave up 39 SOG - say what? Usually I would say that means Oz gave up 4-5 goals but he kept us in the game. I'll come out and admit I thought Oz sucked and was done a few months ago, but after his performance (one bad game vs Columbus and he still outplayed the opp GT) this postseason, I feel I should give credit where credit is due....

    ECF Game #2 GDT

There goes the Cam Ward myth. I was getting tired of hearing how that guy is unbeatable in the POs. Nice how he and Luongo both gave up 7 goals in a PO game. Never thought I would say this - figuring Brodeur, Thomas, Nabby (cough choker), Luongo and others might make it this far, but Osgood is by far the best GT left in the POs. Khabibulin is no wall Ward is not as great as the analysts think (padding stats in the East) Fleury is.. well Oz outplayed him last year sans game 5.

    Roenick

They were discussing this on home ice awhile ago - conclusion was that Roenick is an ass. Shouldn't he be working on his golf game? He's just jealous he doesn't play for a real team that actually makes the conference final (and beyond) regularly. Who listens to this ass-hat anyways? STFU - you are not the center of attention right now you clown. Although not a big fan of Roy, I did like his famous quote "I'm sorry I can't hear Jeremy, my Cup rings are plugging my ears"

    Wings MVP so far?

Z is not in the top 3, but imo he is playing VERY well (sans one gaff last game). The reason Z's line has been so dominant in the POs has alot to do with him. Take the GWG in game 7 vs the Ducks. He made a great play with the puck and a great pass to Cleary in front of the net. Why was Cleary open? Because Pronger had to pick between defending Z or Cleary and on reputation picked Z. Z is smart enough to see what is going on and sets up Cleary for the game winner. Not saying he is CS material at this point, but he is as much responsible for his line-mates success as they are imo....

The Most Ridiculous Osgood Rumor Ever....

Sigh two days off between PO games brings in stuff like this. Who is the "grapvine"? Deepthroat or your younger sister? We need a better source than that. A few posters were correct that if he was abusing his liver all season, 10 days off would NOT get him to the level he's playing at now. The Red Wings have more class than that - If Oz really had AA problems, they would send him for help and not let him come back for awhile....

    Hossa

Oh the Wings have plenty of highlight reels aired on ESPN, NHLN, TSN, VS etc. They are just of Franzen, Cleary, Helm, Sammy, etc. And that is fine with me as long as they are clad in a red wheel. Plus Dats and Z have set up some very timely, awesome goals (Dats to Sammy in game 7, Z to Cleary in game 7). That 3 on 1 last night was a thing of beauty - Huds to Flip to Sammy - saw that one replayed ALOT.
  22. RockyMountainWingGal

    Wings MVP so far?

This should be made a poll. 1. Franzen 2. Osgood 3. Cleary if he keeps up this scoring pace other mentions: Lidstrom, Z (has been playing great despite the fact most of his goals are EN), and heck I'm going to do it and toss in Sammy as honorable mention IF he nets a few more GWGs in these POs (can't believe I did it ).

Chicago Fans Complaing about Missed Calls

The reffing didn't cost either team the game - and that's improvement imo. The Hawks got a 5-3 but didn't capitalize. The Wings got a cheap in the latter part of the third but didn't capitalize. No penalties in the short OT. PPs overall were fairly even. Had the Wings lost that game, we could not have blamed it on the reffing. Come on Blackhawks fans your defensemen are making stupid mistakes - no reffing is going to help you out of that....

Chicago Fans Complaing about Missed Calls

Well after getting a 5 on 3 and landing Lidstrom in the box twice, not sure how one complains. But Wings fans do the same thing - although in our case the Refs really are out to get us (ie waved off Ducks game tying goal) Hawks fans need only look to their two huge defensive gaffs for blame. They were right in that game sans for some pretty stupid mistakes. Really impressive how the Wings totally capitalize on the smallest of things = priceless.

    Hossa

No Lidstrom makes more - Holland won't pay anyone more than Nick, and rightfully so. Something about Dats and Hossa together - they are both snakebit, but seemingly when you watch they are not all playing all that poorly. When one of them pulls what Campbell did tonight, then I'll chime in...
