I was at that Game 4 watching that debacle and yes, I actually did start to feel sorry for them. Imagine the Wings going 0-8 vs. an arch-rival in a season (Ducks?), culminating with getting smoked 8-2 in our barn in the final game, and having MORE of the opposing team's fans in the house yucking it up - ouch!

Seabrook and Keith were matched vs the Z-Franzen-Cleary line. That didn't work out so well = epic fail.

If Datsyuk can keep repeatedly stripping those kids of the puck at center ice for the remainder of this series, I'll take it. I was lmao a few times where the Hawk kept skating then realized "sh&t! wt-f happened to the puck"? priceless.

I never liked Granato - but i felt bad for him here in Denver this year and he's grown on me a bit. Their crappy ex GM Giguere gives him crap on ice to work with, what do you expect? Plus this is the SECOND time they've offered him a contract, then bumped him the second year of it (if indeed Roy accepts). What if Roy doesn't accept? I just don't see how Tony could stay as coach, or have players listen to him. This organization is turning into the Lightning - rather amusing. Look for the Avs to overtake the Ducks as the goons of the league if coach Roy shows up.

He's done nothing the hurt the Wings this postseason (or last). Sure, none of us like him on the PP, but aside from that I fail to see how he hurts the team. He's outplaying some of our top guys right now, sadly, and he's certainly earning his salary for a role player (around 1 mill I think).

But his record vs. the Wings in the playoffs is 5-16 - ouch! He's 1-8 the last 9 games - ouch again! He makes a good transition coach for the young Hawks team - but just not sure this guy is SCF material.

What is up with the flu? Last year Theodore suddenly had the flu in a few games vs the Wings (or does he just suck and that was his excuse). Then Getzlaf last series had the flu a few games, now Toews? Plus once you have the flu and recover, it doesn't come "on and off". Does Pavel have the flu? I'm beginning to wonder. Also, don't these guys get flu shots? Sure there are other strains but they should be immune to the most common seasonal one this year.....

Agreed. I'm ecstatic we beat the Ducks - they gave us a hell of a challenge and yeah some bad blood gets stewing during the course of the series - I wanted the beat the sh*& out of those F*&^s. But to make fun of the guy for showing some emotion after losing a game 7 - kind of sick. He played his heart out. I love the handshake part of hockey - had the Wings lost, I still like to watch and see how the guys shake the other teams' hands (Cheli shame on you for being a bad sport a few years ago). Btw, Hank has one heck of a nice handshake.

The in between plays yapping Getz was doing was bothersome to me - yelling in Hudler's and Flip's face a few times. It's like NBA trash talk hockey style. lol But yeah it's all on ice game stuff - he's a great player that gave us a lot of problems, sans the "sick" games. (What's up w that anyways - last year Theodore was "sick" when he sucked vs us - I'm wondering... ) Wish he wasn't a Duck, but can't hold it against the guy. Fun to watch. Maltby is a known pest btw, but you kind of expect that kind of sh*t from your 4th line guys - anyone's 4th line.

Sorry Duck Guy - very nice of you to post this. Seriously, I was thinking to myself the only good that would come from a Ducks win would be that it would make you happy and was ready to post as such. Hey we've been through the losses, know how you feel (wish I didn't) - your team has played us tougher than anyone the last 3 years (so far). Can't say I hope to see the Ducks again next year, but right now it's the only rival we've got. Man your team was full of some fight - thanks for knocking off those choker Sharks.

Tough call because Maltby hasn't done anything to deserve removal. I would have to say sit Abdelkader since both Malts and Drapes have the game 7 experience. Nothing against him, but that's the choice I would make (but I'm not Babs obv)

update from Wings practice on the Ticket - Raffy practiced and is now probable! Finally some good news on the injury front.

They've played two underachieving Canadian teams. When's the last time the Canucks have been to the WCF? I cannot remember... Not sure why alot of folks here were so afraid of facing Luongo - aside from one game - the guy has looked very human... 7 goals against? If the Hawks shelled him, I hate to think of what the Wings would have done....

This is one of those cases where Wings fans make me sad. Homer has a role to play - of course he is not Datsyuk or Zetterberg. Funny how people forget how pivotal Homer has been in many PO runs - 2002 (had a great year), 2007, 2008, etc. His job is not to provide PO reel highlights but to make the opposing goalie's life tough. I think it is fair to say he is among the best in the league at that. Sure he is near the end of his career as a Red Wing. And now some people would like to toss him under the bus... nice.
