I hope he can play - it will make our PP much more lethal - which has dissipated a bit since he's been out. That could be the final nail in the coffin - if out PP is lethal again. It will be hard to get that 4th win vs the Ducks - we need Raffy! -

This thread is sad - Wings fans arguing over who is the better Red Wing - Datsyuk or Zetterberg.. Reminds me of the Yzerman vs. Fedorov rounds.... They are both great players and both are locked in as Red Wings so that makes me very happy - I love both of them. I cannot fathom watching the Wings with only one of those guys on the team - and hope I never have to. We are spoiled as Wings fans, I think I'll just enjoy it.... -
I think you mean "losing" I don't care why they lose as long as the Wings win this series!

First it was out for game 1, day to day, maybe game 2. I'll be surprised if he plays in Game 6 but I would wholly welcome it at this point.... Oh and Helm is a lock for sure, so if Drapes comes back Abdelkader or Malts goes....

I don't see how trying to sit around and win 1-0 games will get you anywhere. I suspect the Hawks will take this, but who knows? IMO the Nucks have no shot at beating the Wings or Ducks - the only reason they are in the second round and in the series is 1) a fortuitous matchup in the first round with the Blues, and 2) a very good goalie.

i love how these versus analysts pick their "clutch performers" from anyone but the Wings. They still have Hiller up there - sure the guy has been good - but Franzen schooled him last game. I think Franzen's name oughtta be mentioned. As such is the life of a Red Wings fan, no respect I tell ya.....

I'm sure when he decided to take one for the team, he was thinking cuts and bruises and not broken bones. Hope he gets better and the Wings have a long run, so maybe he can come back. I'm fine with plugging in other 4th liners in his place - just feel bad for the guy. Not sure why some people actually welcome his injury - kind of warped. As long as a player is wearing the Winged Wheel I wish them well.... -
I'll be surprised if he plays. Look how long it is taking to get Draper and Raffy back. The docs will err on the side of caution. I hope he sits out - as long as we cannot have our D guy back - let their guy stay out too! There is no way Getlaf sits - even if he is far less than 100% - I'd be shocked.

He's the Duck's best player - bench him? I could only wish Carlyle was that stupid. I don't like him right now because he is a Duck - but if he is too "lazy and overweight" for your team - send him over the to Wings next year....we'll take him.

I like that they beat the Sharks. I also think Getzlaf is a great young player - although in the midst of a series vs. him I want him to suck.

Yes I cannot sit here with a straight face and say I would be sorry if he was out. Maybe that is what I should ask for for Mother's day. Unfortunately the odds of that happening are like winning the lottery... I trust the Wings can continue to do a better job of containing him though.

They announced he will not be released from the hospital until tomorrow. i would be shocked if he got clearance to play tomorrow night the same day he is released, but stranger things have happened, like aberrrent whistle blowing. p.s. best thing Datsyuk has done this series..

He elbowed him but it was accidental - Homer was jammed in between 2 Ducks. Actually when I look at the replay Homer avoided hitting the guy with his stick but in the process elbowed him - accidentally. Can't tell if the puck hit him too. Don't want to see anyone injured but it would be some nice karma to have one of their D out for a game since we've had to live with that too...

I'm not a huge Crosby fan either - but i don't hate the guy like so many here do... Every little thing the guy says is "whining" about something. Sure I thought he needed to mature a little in last year's SCF and give some credit where it was due, but who cares we won the Cup, he didn't. He did everything he could for his team to win last night. Caps fans can be obnoxious anyways, it's his job as captain to speak with officials and try to get the game moving, who cares...
