How are the Sharks getting 2 days off? Maybe an extra day to stew on how they blew it in game 1 is good though....

The league decided they wanted the Pens to advance long before this series started. Even the guys on NHLlive commented on how the Flyers are getting jobbed in this series. It's blatantly obvious and nauseating how much they want to showcase Crosby in the NHL POs. Someone will knock them out, maybe it will be the Wings again.

Didn't his dad die, or else he's been gravely ill all season? I thought that was why Hiller was starting. He has a kid w some kind of illness too. Dude has bad luck - I feel sorry for him even though he kicked our a$$ in 03 and beat us in 07.

I'd love for the Wings to take out the Sharks themselves - but I won't complain if the Ducks beat us to it. Wings played well vs the Ducks this season - I'd take my chances - would be a fun series though.

He is making a valid point that Columbus could very well turn out to be a formidable foe for the Wings. And the Wings haven't exactly done anything to impress anyone in the last few months.... Hitchcock is a good coach - his team is not as talented - save for maybe in goal, but they have nothing to lose by giving this their all - and they were pretty effective against us this season. As a long time Wings fan, I've seen too many first round flops to be comfortable no matter the team. Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Oilers... I still think the Wings will win this series but I have alot of concerns and I don't see anything wrong with an analyst pointing that out.

Could easily be describing Cleveland also....

Almost anyone not on the Leafs is an upgrade in goal for the Wings. Osgood is near the end of his career. Wings need to look to the future and I think this year they've proved spending less than 2 mill on GTs can bite you in the ass. Goals went in when Conklin was in net because he is no better than Osgood. I don't know why so many Wings fans here are reluctant to move away from GT on the cheap - you get what you pay for.....

alright you guys freaked me out so I called directv - they said nothing has changed since last year and games were scheduled until May 15th ALTHOUGH they have not put out the Center Ice PO schedule yet. So there is still the chance TSN games get blocked out but I very much doubt it....

Center Ice advertised they would carry rounds one and two of the POs - like they always have- part of the reason I bought it. Viewers in Canada may be blocked from that if it is on TSN, but I don't see how viewers in the US would be blocked since we do not get TSN anyways. I'm confused - I may try to call and find out but like other posters have said, I never get anyone that knows a damn thing about Center ICe....

Sounds great. But I thought Fedorov was going to retire a Wing, bought him and his agent's stories that he wanted to stay in Detroit - then bam - he's a Duck. So while it sounds good - the numbers don't make sense - so we'll wait and see...

Wow - 4 of the potential 7 games are not televised for the Wings - outside Canada? Never seen that before. I have Center Ice I should be OK, but usually Versus will pick up all the Wings games - they are airing all of Ducks/Sharks and Canucks/BLues. Someone must think this will be a boring series......

Wings have matched up well vs the Ducks this year. However, had we played them in this last month, I think they would have kicked our a$$. Time to see if this team can "turn it on" for the POs or not. I've been waiting several years for Sharks-Ducks. Go Ducks!

Naw while a Ducks-Wings series would be great entertainment, I want to see you guys kick the Sharks in the *&%* and we can play in round 2 (in my dream world).

^^^ The Wings should not count on Osgood to be a number one goalie next year or beyond. He will be great as a veteran BU who can groom a young GT. It is high time the Wings tested what they have in GR - Howard or Larrson. And if that doesn't work out, at least they know and can go in a different direction - like trade someone for a decent GT on the market by next deadline. I'm with you, I'm ready to see what either of the kids has got - tired of waiting around....spoiled Wings fan as I am....

Might as well fold the league in that case - or split it into two levels. But a topic for another day.... Wings will have to be creative for sure this offseason. It looks like it will definitely be Osgood/Howard although I really would like the Wings to sign/trade for a future goalie ASAP if Howard doesn't cut it in the NHL....cap room for that would be nice. You can only coast on cheap GT for so long.....

I'd personally love to see a Sharks-Ducks series myself.... Blues will beat the Avs. Given my choice I'd prefer to avoid the Ducks and the travel in round 1....but I must beware of what I ask for.... edit: oh i definitely do not want the Sharks to draw the Blues.... they need a tougher round 1

Agreed even if this game wasn't a must win for the Wings - we could draw this team in round 1 (unlikely at this point but still possible). Why does Osgood never have to share the blame for blowing a 2G lead late in the third? I'm going to kind of expect a veteran GT to be able to hold a 2G lead late in games in the POs - so I hope the fact that last night's game was fairly meaningless for the Wings means this was an aberration. We cannot always blame everything on the D.

I went to that game last night - (for some reason I thought the Avs-Stars might have PO implications in Sept when i bought them ). The Avs fans were even LTAO at Budaj after that one.... comforting to know there are teams with worse GT than ours...

The best possible scenario is the Blues wind up 7 and Ducks 8. A Sharks-Ducks series is LONG overdue. We don't want the Sharks to draw the Blues either - they need Ducks or Nashville. The #2 seed could come back to bite us in the butt if we get a really tough draw and the Sharks get off easy.....

Gal. Yes I'll be the first to congratulate Osgood when and if he plays well (like vs. the Sabres) and helps us win (like last POs). But if he is a liability - as you say - you can be sure some die-hards will "blame everything and everyone else but Osgood" for that....
