    Michigan State Blame Game

Dang, what happened to all of the State fans around here....? (it's not that bad - you still have the same record as Michigan you know...)

    Lions suck so bad...

So it's true - the Lions have pretty much officially given up on Harrington....I thought there must be a reason for the "W" by the Lions on the score ticker on my TV....

    Michigan State Blame Game

didn't you watch the Ohio State game?? Michigan State was killing the buckeyes in the first half. The turning point for the Michigan State season was the blocked field goal at the end of that half that led to an ohio state touchdown. Yup I saw most of the game. "Was killing" OSU doesn't get you a win - just because of the botched field goal doesn't mean they should fall apart either - they were still up 17-14 at the half. Michigan was outplaying both Wisconsin and Minnesota and still lost. My point is I put alot of the "blame game" on Smith for not keeping his team focused and prepared.....

    Michigan State Blame Game

Make that three straight losses... Smith should be canned for today's effort alone. His team has some good talent, there's no excuse for that type of blowout - that's the coach's fault for being unprepared. Michigan State hangs all of its energy on beating Michigan. Just because you lost that game doesn't mean the towel should be thrown in on the season. The Spartans could have easily gone on to beat OSU (they were ahead in that game) and contended for the Big Ten title. But it's like "oh no we lost to UM - season over".....

    Michigan Sucks.

Must be a "non-suck" day for you huh redwings1914? UM had their fair share of trouble today vs the Hawkeyes. Hart out is always a bad sign. Henne had his signature pick - but I was impressed on how they fought to beat the odds again this time. They seem to be closing out tight games better than earlier in the season.... One more win and we're "toilet-bowl" eligible! Whoo-hoo.

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

I agree that Weis is a class act. I think he is going to be great for ND which is bad for me, because I'm a Michigan fan and it will be tough for us to beat him. Plus I think he's a better coach than Carr, so the future vs ND looks rough. I still disagree that it was a fumble - saw the replay again. It doesn't really matter anyhow - USC got the win and there's no going back. I just hate to see such a tightly contested game end on what I see as a questionable call (actually I thought the original call on the field was correct). P.S. my bad - you weren't the one the one that called my post stupid...

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

How can you know what the coach thinks?? I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't think it was a fumble - including others in this thread. It was a highly controversial call - just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make their post "stupid".

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

Nominee for the dumbest post ever!!! The clock stops when the ball goes out of bounds.. They were not cheated, not even close. Even Weiss knew it. The time keeper did not see the ball fly out of bounds like the officials. So, it is a dead ball with 7 seconds left on the clock. GO LOOK IN THE RULE BOOK. I don't even like USC, but, ND did not get the shaft.. GO CHECK THE RULE BOOK, I WILL BET YOU ANY MONETARY AMOUNT THAT YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THIS CALL. I guess you missed the rules of football. You don't have to get personal because we disagree about the call. Go ask people in Indiana if they think it was a funble out of bounds. It looks to me like he didn't cross the goal line - the ball came out but he might have been down already imo. I wouldn't have called it a fumble. Just because you think it was doesn't mean everyone has to agree with you (and the officials). Point is, this will be a contested call for years and I stand on my disagreement with it. I don't have any reason to plug for Notre Dame, that's just how I saw it - there's probably alot of people in South Bend that agree with me (wearing Green-shaded glasses I admit)...

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

I guess you missed the Notre Dame 31 USC 28 time left 0:00 at the end there. Notre Dame stopped them at the goal line - USC had no time outs left and the clock ran out as it should have. I guess the officials decided to give them one last chance..... Maybe you don't like ND and you want them to lose - I don't usually pull for them either. But they got hosed on this one.

    Michigan Sucks.

Yup - we tried to lose that one there at the end again. But somehow the fates decided to put some good fortune in our hands at the last second. I really think Henne was down before the Penn State guy took the ball from him for those 8 points - the thing that really ticked me off was that they didn't even review it??? Carr has issues with the end of games this year: should have won both Wisc and Minn - those were both end of game melt-downs. I'm glad they pulled it out - exciting end this time. I think Henne is good - hopefully he'll get all of the mistakes out of the way this year.....

    Michigan State Blame Game

You figured Ohio State wasn't going to lose two in a row. That said, I thought the Spartans had a good chance. I knew things were looking bad when they looked to go up 20-7 at the half and the blocked kick came back to make it 17-14. I missed the second half. As an outside observer, I would say that Smith is not a big game coach. Sure he beat Notre Dame, but I think he just got lucky on that one, considering how big of a lead they blew there. Still, 4-2 ain't so bad for the Spartans, as long as they don't fold and lose more games. They could still win the big ten and should go to a decent bowl game (barring a melt down).

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

No matter what your TV says, I just witnessed the Irish BEAT the Trojans. That was the single worst officiating at the end of the game that I have seen in 20 years - and I'm no fan of the Irish. They just got screwed out of one the biggest wins in their history. I would be very angry if I was a Notre Dame fan. I will never be able to take USC seriously as national champs after that. Let's just hope someone else beats them so it doesn't come down to that. Very sad for college football.

    Michigan Sucks.

Right about now there's a bunch of Ohio State fans bitching and whining about their loss to Penn State in a forum somewhere......all fans do it, it's certainly not unique to UM. Wait 'til the Wings blow a big game, the check the forums here...

    Joseph Harrington is HORRIBLE

Didn't he come from a "West Coast offense" type team - Oregon?? Lion need to dump some crappy management (ie. Millen = useless) if they ever hope to improve....

    Alan Trammell gets fired

The sign of a sorry organization is when you hire Jim Leyland in place of Trammell. Straight from someone who lives in Colorado, Leyland flatout sucks. That guy was HORRIBLE here in Colorado - a team not known for its choice of brilliant managers. Plus, no other team in the league thought he could do squat for the last 6 years. Please, what a terrible decision. What the he## are you smoking out there in Detroit????

    Michigan Sucks.

You sure have changed your tune from the beginning of the season. What happened to your UM National Champions 06 sig? I really liked that one. Kind of like us Red Wings fans thinking we're going to win the Cup every year, huh?

    Michigan Fans Confessional

At this point we're not "overrated" we're just not rated (as of Monday anyhow). There's nothing left to confess either, Michigan just doesn't have a good team this year. They didn't derserve to win today. Let the Gophers have their Jug for once in 17 years - we'll get it back next year and keep it for another 17.... Ironically, the Wolverines are having a "Spartan" kind of year. Mediocre team but they somehow got pumped up for the MSU game and beat the ranked Spartans....

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

It kind of makes me sick how everyone kisses their a$$ so much. They're not invincible - I say they lose at least a game in the regular season this year. It's easy to be undefeated if you play the Stanfords of the world every week. If USC played on the East Coast and had to play the three Florida teams every year (Miami, Florida, and FSU) they wouldn't go undefeated. Such are college schedules though....I'm pulling for anyone who plays against them so I don't have to hear about them anymore.....Go Wildcats! Go Irish!

Can Notre Dame upset the Trojans?

Well being a Michigan fan, I still pull hard for the Irish against USC every year. I think they have a shot.... let's hope for a little luck 'o the Irish in two weeks...

    Michigan State Fans' Confessional

That pretty much sums up why I dislike Michigan fans. Most of them. I usually go for the non-offensive T-shirts, that why if we lose I don't look like a horse's ass. Like this past game we made it to say "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning." I agree with not liking the more offensive "your team sucks" tee shirts. I prefer to plug positively for my own team... That said, I've sat next a few "Muck Fichigan" shirts myself - funny the first millisecond you see it - juvenile and stupid from that point on.... Kind of akin to the occasional "Red Wings Suck" bumper stickers I still see combing Denver. You wouldn't want to opt for anything like "Avalanche 2001 Stanley Cup Champions" ...stupid.

    Michigan State Fans' Confessional

George Perles I suppose the fact that he took the Spartans to their only Rose Bowl appearance/victory in the last 40 years makes him "seem" good, realatively speaking. Never was a fan of his... btw, I went to Southern Cal and witnessed the MSU victory in 1988 myself - good thing I did...may never get another chance in my lifetime...

    Stanton Strikes again

Mich was definitely overranked in the preseason this year. But overall you can't argue where they fall into the polls by the end of each season. Since '97: 78-21 overall for an average of 9.8-2.6 per season. Most programs would be glad to have that kind of record. So while the "preseason" polls often favor the traditionally good teams, by the end it's usually fair.....

Smith is going to be like Cooper at Ohio State: I say if he doesn't beat UM next year he gets canned....

    Michigan Vs. Michigan State

Thanks for the info... Even game imo: both teams with glorious and ugly moments. UM botched two chances to put it away at the end of reg. Really though the Spartans would win at that point. History of the series usually has Mich ranked high with the Spartans coming to A2 at which time they blow the game: MSU plays hard with nothing to lose... This time the reverse...MSU ranked high with everything to lose...UM trying to salvage season... I actually feel bad about this one: our Spartan friend down the road came over all decked out in his green gear and catered a full brunch for us..sorry for him, he was so excited for State. Now next year when Mich hopefully is back in top 10 form, watch Sparty will have his day....better luck next year Green&White. p.s. please beat Ohio State in a few weeks....
