I dislike HFboards as much as the next guy. But its pretty telling when fans from other teams dont share the same homer rosy view of Glendening that Wings fans do. Glendog is an overhyped 4th line player. Drew Miller+. Not that valuable. This team doesnt even have a competitive 1st line. Perma 4th liners are far from a priority. -
+1 Wow, truly amazing.

Which is Yzerman's fault. What he's thinking here I have no idea. -
Seider is currently in 2nd place for most points in a single season in the SHL by a U20 Dman. He needs 9 more points to tie the record. Unfortunately he only has 5 games left to achieve this and he'll likely finish 5-6 pts short. For comparison Lidstrom only scored at a 0.41 PPG pace in Sweden at 19 years old. Seider is at 0.71 PPG pace. Even at 20 years old Lidstrom couldn't top that pace and scored at a 0.60 PPG rate in Sweden. Bro is gonna be a monster in the NHL

Through the first 7 games of the season I have to admit I was happy with the way he was playing. Even if he only had 1 goal and 3 assists in that time. His stick looked much faster. He looked shiftier and more dangerous out there. He had some really nice steals and was threading the needle on those assists he had. But lo and behold, that was short lived, and old Zadina is back. No points for the next seven games. Looks completely lost out there. Tentative play. Blowing defensive assignments and zone entries. Botching odd man breaks. Whiffing on shots. I so badly wanted this to be the season where I shut my yap about how overrated this kid is. Where he finally shows he's a creator, driver, and complete hockey player for this team. He's just not. He's a one-dimensional trigger man who would be better served on a more complete team, where he can feast like Hudler did in Calgary. Disappoint

We're already going to have retain salary on Staal and Helm. That's our two player limit. -

1. But you are passing judgement. Before any of the facts are in. You've decided it's a tin foil hat "NAZAROV PUTIN CONSPIRACY" from the outset. 2. Honestly what does repetition have to do with any of this? Besides you trying to strawman by actively dragging this into the weeds? 3. Then why are you obsessed with splitting hairs between assault and domestic violence. Both are crimes. 4. And again, that matters how to your argument? 5. You're certainly loyal to the American propaganda machine, I'll give you that. -

Go to "Trade Rumors and Free Agents" on HF Boards. It'll be a wake up call for you. Hint: No fans around the league feel the same way about Glendening that you or other Wings fans do. Useful 4th liners are certainly a necessary commodity, but it's about the least important commodity on just about any team, and certainly the last thing we need on this team. Unfortunately I think Yzerman holds on to him. His contract is too big for what it brings in return. And under covid teams won't want to spend on that. I just hope Yzerman is mart enough to offer him $1 mil flat in this summer. -
Could there be a hockey trade available? 31 Thoughts Friedman is putting out in his 31 thoughts that everyone in Nashville is available besides Rinne, Ellis, and Josi, He's also saying Calgary has been shopping more guys than just Sam Bennett and are looking to make a big change in their room. I see our trade-able pieces as: Mantha Glendening Ryan Could we possibly swing a center out of Nashville? Forsberg, Jarnkrok? Or a young Dman like Fabbro? Something out of Calgary?

Glendening is a 4th liner. A decent 4th liner, but a 4th liner. But by all means keep pretending how this is extremely valuable around the league -

1. He's already on the back end of his career, this lowers his value 2. Glendening's cap hit is 1.8 mil. Dobbers predicts he'll make half that next season. 3. Yeah he doesn't produce any offense 6. Every team has one or multiple players in the same mold as Glendening, most of which are younger fresher and at a fraction of the cost. Glendening is not special and he's probably going to remain on the team cause no one will take him. -

I just don't understand how you don't move Brome, Glendening, or Filppula into the top 6. Those 3 already play more shifts than anyone else outside the top6. Give them a chance to get something going with the Larkin's of the world. Sigh -

He has played 3 games in GR this year. 1 assist and 1 goal. IMO Barber, Hirose, Smith and Brome should be everyday regulars on this team. Nielsen, Erne, Gagner should all be cut. -

Ain't that the truth. Soon to be 32 year old hardworking bottom 6er on an overpaid contract. 13 pts and -31 in his last 79 games. No one is going to be forking over anything of significance for this. Probably the most wildly overvalued player on this team by fans. -

Here is the inherent problem: You automatically view the athlete as the victim... and not the actual victim... So getting drunk and beating a strange woman = okay Getting drunk and beating my wife = not okay Russia would disagree with that assessment. Also domestic violence doesn't need to be repetitive for it to be a crime. Just so ya know... But according to you it's not domestic violence sooooooo Everything the west does is good and truthful. Everything Russia does is evil lies. Congratulations, you're being played by your own propaganda machine. -
DOBBER: Free Agent Salary Projections 2021 Jon Bernier - $3.57 Fil Hronek - $3.19 Ty Bertuzzi - $3.18 Bob Ryan - $1.35 Val Filppula - $1.06 Luke Glendening - $0.965 Dennis Cholowski - $0.872 Sam Gagner - $0.770 Not sure why they expect Bertuzzi will take a paycut, or why Glendog would be less than $1 million. Bros did we overvalue the glendog?

The vast majority of cases are settled out of court because pro athletes have the funds to buy off their victims instead of having to face criminal charges. And it works for victims as they don't have to relive their nightmare being dragged out in court. Nice to be rich I guess. You can get away with anything. How do you know it wasn't his gf or one of his gfs? So lets just call it straight up assault and battery then. Does that really make things better in your eyes? This is eastern europe. Beating women is a past time in much of these places. I don't think Russia even prosecutes domestic violence anymore. >"Not because they fear they won't be believed" >Immediately doesn't believe -
Cologne has best two forwards in the league in Akeson and Sheppard. Only a matter of time before the rest of the team catches up. Especially with young guns like Barinka having another solid season.

Yzerman: Bergy: -
Yeah I remember Barinka at one point being projected as high as a 4th round pick. Then after 2 years in Halifax fell to 7th and then undrafted, which ultimately became his fate. IDK why (though I suspect why) but he never gained the trust of his coaches in Halifax. Never rose above the 3rd line and was a healthy scratch at points in favor of players even younger than himself. He plays prototypical Euro style hockey. Doesn't take the body. Doesn't tie up the stick. Looks indifferent on defense. Always needed to gain weight and get stronger. However, you're right, he's always dominated in Euro leagues and especially in tournaments. He played real well for Cologne in his first stint in a mens league. But now the DEL is canceled and that's gonna prolly kill any chance he had left at development into a NHL tier caliber player. Maybe Krupp can still turn him into a man though.
