Within reason. Yzerdawg is not gonna get in a bidding war over a 34 year old martinez. The big prize is Reilly but Bruins will prolly keep him. Oesterle and or Cole would be a good offseason D build for us.
-
I get the feeling seider is going to develop a robust offensive game faster than anyone realizes. He's known as an extremely fast learner and adapter. With the amount of time he will be on ice it only be a season or 2 b4 hes clapping bombs and ******* moms.
-
Since when? I was for trading him sure
-
Prepare to be disappointed. The tier 1s will be re-signed or gobbled up by contenders. We will be lucky to sign cole or oesterle honestly. Super weak D pool this year. Staal is definately getting re-signed. Dekeyser - Hronek Staal - Seider Cholowski/Lindstrom - Stecher Koekkoek
-
Only rigidity matters. Ladies like stiffies that can cut cubic zirconia
-
Seider's clapper is probably the only part of his game that needs work TBH. That will come afte huckin bombs in the D-Boss dungeon of Larkin's parents house for a summer. Pronger = fearless, charismatic, leader, bully, high IQ, big, workhorse Seider = fearless, charismatic, leader, bully, high IQ, big, workhorse It's hard not to compare him to Pronger. Maybe we can compare him to Chelios instead?

Viro has been described by particular scouts as mini Heiskanen. He's REALLY good for his age. Folks will laugh when u bring up a 19 year old finnish 3rd rounder, but just tell them to learn the name now... and wait. I think Viro and Berggren will be the Tatar/Nyquist excellent support players that elevate our Seiders/Raymonds

Options for the LHD we need: Jake McCabe - 28 years old - 6'1" 205lbs - 0.218 scoring rate - BUF 3rd pair and PK Slater Koekkoek - 27 years old - 6'2" 193lbs - 0.179 scoring rate - EDM 7th Dman - Drafted by Yzerman Jamie Oleksiak - 28 years old - 6'7" 225lbs - 0.195 scoring rate - DAL 2nd pair and PK Mike Reilly - 28 years old - 6'1" 200lbs - 0.308 scoring rate - BOS 1st pair and PP and PK Ben Hutton - 28 years old - 6'2" 206lbs - 0.240 scoring rate - ANA 3rd pair and PK Nikita Nesterov - 28 years old - 5'11" 191lbs - 0.218 scoring rate - CGY 3rd pair and PK - Drafted by Yzerman Patrik Nemeth - 29 years old - 6'3" 228lbs - 0.158 scoring rate - COL 3rd pair and PK - Former Red Wing Erik Gustafsson - 29 years old - 6'0" 197lbs - 0.524 scoring rate - PHI 7th Dman and PP Jordan Oesterle - 29 years old - 6'0" 185lbs - 0.258 scoring rate - ARI 3rd pair and PP and PK - Michigan Native Derek Forbort - 29 years old - 6'4" 220lbs - 0.196 scoring rate - WPG 2nd pair and PK Jon Merrill - 29 years old - 6'3" 195lbs - 0.163 scoring rate - MTL 7th Dman - Former Red Wing and Michigan Native Dimitry Kulikov - 31 years old - 6'1" 204lbs - 0.240 scoring rate - NJD 3rd pair and PK Michael Del Zotto - 31 years old - 6'0" 195lbs - 0.351 scoring rate - CBJ 3rd pair Brendan Smith - 32 years old - 6'2" 200lbs - 0.209 scoring rate - NYR 3rd pair - Former Red Wing Ian Cole - 32 years old - 6'1" 225lbs - 0.245 scoring rate - MIN 3rd pair - Michigan Native Thomas Hickey - 32 years old - 6'2" 186 - 0.258 scoring rate - NYI 3rd pair Marc Staal - 34 years old - 6'4" 210lbs - 0.209 scoring rate - DET 2nd pair and PK - Former Red Wing Niklas Hjalmarsson - 34 years old - 6'3" 200lbs - 0.209 scoring rate - ARI 7th Dman and PK Alec Martinez - 34 years old - 6'1" 210lbs - 0.360 scoring rate - 2nd pair and PP and PK - Michigan Native *Bold = positive *Red = negative *Blue = special note *Not included = AHL Dmen and Dmen 35 or older I think there are three tiers here: Tier 1 Alec Martinez Derek Forbort Mike Reilly Jamie Oleksiak Tier 2 Jake McCabe Marc Staal Ben Hutton Nikita Nesterov Jordan Oesterle Dimitry Kulikov Michael Del Zotto Brendan Smith Ian Cole Thomas Hickey Tier 3 Slater Koekkoek Patrik Nemeth Erik Gustafsson Jon Merrill Niklas Hjalmarsson I think the only top tier Dman we may be able to snag is Derek Forbort. Former #15 overall pick, but he kinda flies under the radar in the league. Solid defensive LH Dman. We could impress him with salary and play time. I doubt we have a realistic shot at the other 3. In tier 2 we have Staal, Oesterle, and Cole I could see us shaking a stick at because of connections to Michigan. Yzerman also knows Nesterov and Smith well. Was rumored Holland was interested in Hickey back in the day. Probably avoid tier 3. But any of those could be solid pick ups for depth 7th dmen.

Yzermans comments were exactly as i expected. I could change coaches every season if u like... why bother? Yzermam knows the team sucks and its a roster problem. A new coach wont fix anything right now (as if a good one would want to join us anyway). Changing coaches is a lateral move that prolly does not much of anything for u. Keep tanking and leave blash for at least now for some continuity However i still see blash leaving as soon as the roster improves and he has a downseason. Going thru the doldrums that long means a freshening will be easy to justify.

Theyre already turning on Mantha in capland Basically i see caps saying "what detroit warned us about is true" 1. He doesnt always motor hard enough 2. Stands around and watches the play 3. Tries to get too fancy 4. Stands netfront, when the caps game is more about getting shooters open and keeping possession instead of crowding the net in deep

He got the calder and the norris of the SHL Better than lidstrom

Eemil has signed his ELC. 925K. Kid will be in the lineup soon. Possibly the best lefty in our system.

https://podcast.sportsnet.ca/31-thoughts/trade-deadline-wrap-up/ Friedman talks about it in his podcast above. Yzerman and Co believe this will take longer than initially expected. Can't say I disagree. I have been saying every member of this team should be on the trade block for about 2 years now. There are absolutely zero building blocks on this team. No superstars. Friedman also mentioned earlier this season that Yzerman was only protecting 4 players: Larkin, Zadina, Raymond, and Seider. Everyone else is trade bait. The Mantha trade all but confirms the truth of that. >Larkin is on pace for 45 pts in 82 games >Hronek is like Kronwall - a great 2nd pair Dman >Bertuzzi and Fabbri are great secondary players >We have one blue chip in Seider >Almost zero goalie depth in the pipeline Reality is... Hronek, Larkin, and/or Bertuzzi are very likely traded in the next 24 months. Shocker I know. But they are not the stalwarts you have built them up to be in your mind. This team has 5+ years of tanking and drafting ahead of it.

Okay, I got a player I wanna shill for... Reece Newkirk >Center - shoots left >5'11" 185lbs >Just turned 20 in February >Playing in the WHL >Taken by the Islanders in the 5th round of the Seider draft As I've mentioned before I have a fishing buddy who is a scout for the Islanders. Heard this kids name out of his mouth. That he's a 5th round steal. Probably should have gone high in the 3rd. So I did a little research. Lot of Isles fans compare him to Casey Cizikas - only with better scoring and more toughness. He plays in all situations and is used in key roles on the Portland Winterhawks 1st unit PP and 1st unit shorthanded. He is extremely fiesty and is not afraid to drop the gloves, take it into the corners, and run his mouth. Definitely fearless for his size and I would say projects as a middle 6 center. Probably 3rd line. But what really sold me is this highlight reel: Very skilled for a 2-way aggro center. Attacks the net aggressively and seems to have a great motor that never stops. I'm saying Yzerman - take on Leo Komarovs contract at the draft in exchange for this kid.

I mean, I think that's quite an assumption. Idk what Lambert's personal coaching style is. I'm not sure anyone does. He hasn't been a head coach since 2011. He has been a loyal Trotz soldier though if that's where the defense first meme comes from. I like Barry Trotz (a lot more than I like Blashill) but not cause he's defense first. I think that's mostly an overplayed meme from his Nashville days with Poille. If you listen to him talk about his coaching style he doesn't preach button down the hatches - he preaches playing your personnel (correctly). And he says pretty flatly that Nashville delivered him defensive heavy rosters... and therefore he played a defense heavy style. And he did that pretty well in Nashville considering their payroll. Then he goes to the Caps and wins them their first ever cup. A top heavy offensive team. What did he change? He switched Ovi to the right side and forced them to defend as a 5 man unit. Not sure Blash would have the nuts to switch up Ovi's game. He certainly couldn't even get AA or Mantha to commit to a defensive scheme. And that's where I have the biggest problem with Blash. We are hemorrhaging solid young talent and only by the grace of Yzerman's midas touch with Vrana and Fabbri have we been able to mask that. At some point you have to ask how many extremely talented players is this guy going to ruin? Larkin is on a perpetual downtrend. Cholowski failed to ever take off. I'm extremely hesitant to let this babs wannabe ever sniff Moritz Seider.

Dunno what a fanook is, but I'm constantly critiqued for not being fat or ex military. "She must not cook very good lol" Because I ate a reasonable portion of food and am not overweight. "Thanks for bringing wine, but idk what a petite syrah is lol that must be soemthing your learn in college, we only get fat syrah in boot camp lol" yes unclue vinne, i got an education and a job and thats how i know about wine, wish i had got shot at more. toledo is comfy. Real depressing. Great town. I always order ranch instead of blue cheese with my wings and make sure to make it very clear to everyone that blue cheese blows and ranch is superior. Am i autistic? maybe. Do I hate new yorkers? absolutley.
