So we all know GR is off just to a hell of an amazing start. But if you look at the roster you'll notice a more youth oriented team, which normally doesn’t happen. Through looking at our youth one must wonder how many are actually NHL bound or have a greater chance of making it than the others? It was for this reason that I create this particular poll. My answer would be the following: Jiri Hudler (Even though I am not a big fan, he has non the less literally lit up the AHL scoreboard. And know Holland will not take the advantage of this trade bait) Valtteri Filppula (though small in stature, he works his a$$ off and does his best to not get knocked down. Nearly made the Wings roster at camp.) Kyle Quincey (Could possibly be our next Lidstrom, if not oh well he’ll then pan out to be a 2nd line defenseman that can put up points and help quarterback the power play.) Jimmy Howard (we already got rumors of him on these boards staying as a permanent Red Wing this season. We’ll all knew he would be good, but did anyone really think he would this good so quick?) Ryan Oulahen (Ya I know he’s not having an impressive year but don’t count him out yet. He’s a hell of a player and I think he’s just needs another year of seasoning in the AHL. I’m pulling for him this year but I could see him feeling over shadowed and a bit misplaced as this is his first pro year.) and that isn't even counting McGrath or Kindl who are taking names for the Rangers.

you all are def wrong bout Anchorage & Maine. As someone whose lived/lives in both thats the fact. Seattle Quebec Portland Sacramento Cincinnati Baltimore Las Vegas (Cincinnati, and Baltimore would be smart in terms of the NHL getting into the Urban market)
-
Vegas, Seattle, Winnipeg, KC, etc. Whatever. They need to stay there and the city officials need to make that shet happen.

uhhh jesus.... really classy. the part where you use the whole free speech right to make yourself out to be a pile of ...see how that worked? censorship....odd little thing. Sometimes takes his friend classy out...wouldn't know much about either one though. Well thats ok, by the time you reach 18 there will be a jail room for you; of this I am sure.

mmmm crow. I admit it. I used to be all for getting him. But crow is crow. Screw the bum!
-
interesting Burke staying put during the deadline. Seems like another scorer would have been a good idea. Maybe it was just me, but I was kinda suprised Murray from the Bs didn't get moved.
-
dunno if I would take Nolan or Bert at this point in time. One's playing, and putting up points, the other is not. But agree with the family point. Definetly do wonder what the wings offered.

been awhile.... hell of a deadline this year, no question. The Smyth situtation is beyond crazy. Lowe's arse should be canned. Now onto the thread. After reading 14 pages.... interesting trade. Quite the safe play really for Holland and the organization. I eat some crow here and admit I'm pretty shocked he went after Calder and Bert. I will have an additional side of crow, regarding the Bert Moore thing. I went both sides when that sh*t went down. They've both taken the issue to far. Anyway. Heres the only thing of course. Health. If hes got it sweet, if not damn. I do hope we resign him regardless. 2nd rounder and mild pick for what was once one of the more (or if not the) dominate players in the league. Glad Williams finally got moved. Was really hope Lang's unproductive overpaid bleep would have been moved but oh well. With that being the only thing Im upset about, pretty sweet deals. Zubrus would have been sick though. (just not at that price, jebus)

Smyth and Doan. Anything else is just crap.
-
when it comes to Smyth you have no clue what your talking about. Rolston would be sick be he is definetly not avaiable buddy.
-
hell yes too Smyth!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they don't want Dats fine..Give em Hudler and a 1st if they want, if not then table Dats and a pick (although thats overpayment in my book but...whatever). Then turn and deal Dats for a prospect and pick. Either way this next season...Doan and Smyth f*ck ya!
-
BS trade and BS rumor. Why would Chelly want to leave? Why would we want Sammsonov? Getting ride of Dats makes sense... but where are you going to find room for Souray to get playin time.. chelly really? No.
-
would this be after his blowout loss tonight?
-
I could roll with the above as well except for Maltby..man that dude is done. Enough is enough. Whens his contract run out already? Let some young'in take his spot. I just don't see the player playin the game we need out of him.

This is what I understand and feel like I know. Howard will not be ready for the big show next year which is just fine. Yes goalies do take longer to develop, many of us know this. If Holland goes with havingt Howard spend the next 2 years in GR I'd be cool with that. The more experiance the better. For next year....pending playoff performance...Hasek will noit be back. From what I understand of the UFA 07 marekt there will be a few goalies. I'd either grab a decent 2-3 year rental and have Ozzie back him up or go with what we talked about all summer of a Ozzie/Liv tandem. The reason I go with Liv is just as the article states.. GR isn't that great of a team this year. I think Liv would do just fine at the Joe with our D in front of him.

my bad it was the wolverines vs gophers....2-8 blow out hot damn! Wheeler looked awesome. Great comparison eva...you keep makin analogies like that fine, enjoy. I can see logic will not take place here so Im dropping it.

Spartans vs Gophers rematch tonight. Caught the first game. Abdelkader looked good, don't get me wrong he had a great game. I'm pretty confident we've got a decent 3rd liner on our future hands. I'd still take the frenchman whose playing 1st line in the NHL right now but thats besides the point. We got what we got and what we got ain't bad. Sadly I will be rooting for the Gophers tonight as Wheeler is the sheeet.

thats really too bad Kolanos couldnt get his freakin act together. Could;ve been a pretty good player in GR and earn his spot in the big time.
-
Hank - Lang - Doan Smyth - Hudler - Grigs Homer - Draper - Cleary Sam the Swede - Franzen - Booter pretty nice...cept not room for Williams.

well i dunno lets take a trip to seths fantasy land shall we? Reality: Doan UFA this summer....price: what 4 million? 4.5? (and yes correct me if wrong here) Reality: there is a damn good chance he will test the market. Dude wants to start winning now that hes "hitting his prime". The Yotes of course will not be the place for this. Reality: Even though Smyth is the face of the Oilers. Would they really pass up on Dats? They are a speed team. Also, we all know Dats is going to be shooting for toughly 6+ million. If Smyth is shooting for a cool 5 then deal!!!!! Williams, Lang and Schnids are up and coming UFAs. Im not a huge fan of the first too but I'd still lock em up. 3 years for Williams and 2 for Lang. Schnids, Ive come around you guys are right we need to hold onto him. Lock him up to half bleep replace Lids when he leaves to play golf in Sweden. If Doan and Smyth are available there is no reason we should go for both and dump Dats. They would, without question be worth it.

Dats for Smyth!!! Then bring in Doan and damn let the good times role!!!
