Not surprised if Kane is gone...These past few months he looked at times as though he was either playing hurt, or just going thru the motions, or both. The highlight moment was his OT winner in Chicago on Chelios night.

Meh - I'd rather see teams earn a spot in the playoffs via the regular season...It bites that we didn't make it, but thems the breaks considering our extended poor play during the months of December and March.

50/50 Part of me thinks Yzerman had playoff hopes when signing Kane - at that time all was going well. Part of me thinks Yzerman didn't want to cash in some future assets/picks/etc at the deadline for a shot at the playoffs. The rebuild continues...I'm hoping there are changes behind the bench. -

Eastern Conference dark horse... Indeed. Good learning experience...Learning how not to poop the bed multiple times throughout the season...Will be interesting to see who comes/goes this summer. -

If by some miracle (or embarrassing curse) Detroit makes it in - Lalonde will likely be behind the bench next season...If the Wings don't - I still expect him to be behind the bench (unfortunately). -
