I feel as though this franchise has found itself in that middle pack of teams where we may, or may not make the playoffs, but are highly unlikely winning the lotto/generational player. I guess there's hope that Yzerman and the scouts draft those hidden gems, and signing/trading for better than average vets. -

Brendan Lemieux waived by Carolina…Is he a locker room cancer? Seems like he’s been on a handful of teams for such a short career thus far. That said from what little I know of him he’s got some snarl and bite (literally).

Well that's 3 losses in a row for our boys...NYI are only 4 pts behind, won 4 games in a row, have 1 game in hand (well - they play tonight)...Speaking of opponents the NYI have SJ, ANA, LA, BUF, and OTT as their next 5... Good news is outside of VGK, we play AZ twice and BUF twice... I'm liking our odds If the NYI cont to stay hot - we need Philly to crash and burn!

Agreed. Looking at both Ottawa and Buffalo...While both have impressive young talent - they're both a mess on and off the ice...Having played under Bowman/Babcock - I feel Yzerman understands the value of vets on the roster and in the locker room.

That wrongful cross-check to an unsuspecting Artem Zub had Yzerman reminiscing his youthful days while playing in the thuggish 80s/90s...$5 says Perron will sign a team friendly 1 year deal. It's these overpriced UFAs that has helped us get to where we are at in the standings.

It's quite possible Yzerman stands pat when it comes to adding any forward depth - we certainly have enough guys who have played center throughout their NHL careers.
